Author's Note: I'm so sorry for the delay in uploading the next chapter, however I have found myself with more time than usual. This story is wrapping up and will be finished soon, and is the longest story I've ever written (The only story I've ever written that wasn't a one-shot, LOL). I never realized how helpful it is to plan out each chapter before actually sitting down to type it, because then you lose inspiration or focus and where to go, etc.. I always knew how I wanted this story to end, but the problem for me seems to be how to get there! So anyway, thank you to those who have reviewed and waited for me to finish this story. My next stories have an outline, so they will be easier to write and will be updated more frequently.
As always, enjoy the story! Reviews are welcome.
"Sakura..? Sakura, wake up!" Sasuke pleaded, his voice thick with emotion. This was the first thing that Sasuke demanded when the teleportation jutsu that Itachi had used brought them back to their familiar world once again. A grimace of pain was set on Sakura's features; the only response she gave was panting heavily as the effects of the jutsu subsided. Her eyes were shut tightly, a testament to the amount of pain she must be in. Even in normal conditions the jutsu was a good deal disorienting.
The girl with blush colored locks remained unconscious in Sasuke Uchiha's arms. Itachi watched from beside him as his brother began to panic, not having seen him react this way towards anyone outside of their family years ago, specifically just himself and their mother. It was obvious that his little brother cared for the Haruno girl. He wondered when Sasuke had stopped caring about showing weakness in front of others, and since when did he show any emotions on his sleeve like he was doing at this moment? Perhaps he did not consider emotions a weakness after having a friend chase after him like Naruto, who was obviously very strong in his own right. Itachi's musings were interrupted when Sasuke tensed.
Sasuke's grip tightened around the battered girl in his arms, securing her there and daring anyone who may try to take her away. Before the Uchiha brothers had rescued Sakura and returned here, Sakura's color had already began growing a sickly shade. He wondered quickly if they shouldn't have kept her in that other dimension and let the civilians treat her there. After all, they treated her upon her arrival. She did have a head injury badly enough that she had temporarily forgotten her memories. No, no, no. Itachi was right; Sakura needed someone who was well renowned with medical ninjutsu like Tsunade.
Sakura had done what she could to stop the bleeding of her bigger wounds before Itachi performed the jutsu, but Sasuke knew that one of Light's attacks had damaged her internally and it was likely that she was bleeding more than they could tell. The jutsu that altered dimensions couldn't have been good for her rapidly diminishing health. On top of that, she was dangerously low on chakra. "We have to go, Itachi," was his second demand.
Sasuke quickly took in his surroundings, both Uchihas' Sharingan blazing. He was familiar with the wooded area that they'd come to and knew they were in Fire Country at least. They were both surrounded by trees, a civilian road less than 400 meters away from them to the west. "We're not far from Konoha, right?" Sasuke asked impatiently waiting for confirmation. He could only hope that fate was on his side today. He'd been lucky enough to get to Sakura in time before Light could finish her, but his unofficial mission wasn't over just yet.
Itachi nodded. "Just under approximately five miles south of here is the front gate," his brother confirmed.
The wind blew through the trees around them, bringing with it the scent of rain coming. Sakura's breathing became more labored as the seconds passed them by. Sasuke repeated, "Let's go. I don't know how much longer she can hold out."
Sasuke never thought he'd come back to Konoha for anything. He'd done so much damage to the trust that everyone here had put in him, but here he was, rushing to greet it with open arms because of the kunoichi he was holding on to so closely. He sent a pulse of chakra to his feet to give him the boost of speed that he needed, Itachi easily matching his pace. Speaking of Itachi...
"What are you going to do, big brother?" Sasuke asked apprehensively. Itachi was a wanted, S-ranked criminal for killing the whole Uchiha clan except for himself. It was public knowledge and still haunted the hallways and empty houses in the Uchiha compound, especially the main house where they had both grown up. Of course, hardly anyone knew the real circumstances that Itachi was ordered to do it by Konoha and that his family was trying to overthrow Konoha's own government.
"I could ask you the same thing, Sasuke," Itachi responded all while keeping his eyes forward, not breaking stride. He was right. Sasuke was also a wanted criminal at this point for all the crimes he's committed. They were both running straight into their old home, straight to the place that had hunted them down to try to make them pay for their crimes.
"I don't have a problem with being held accountable for the sins I've committed against Konoha," Sasuke declared with determination. He continued, "Now that I know the truth surrounding our family, though, I won't allow you to continue living as a wanted killer," the younger Uchiha quipped between a clenched jaw.
"Hn," Itachi acknowledged with a small smirk as they dropped down in front of the village gates. Itachi didn't give a hint at what he was thinking, and Sasuke didn't try to understand as the village gates came into view.
The two Chunin that were on gate duty jumped out of their seats, screaming after the Uchiha men who were running full speed towards the hospital. They moved faster across the rooftops to keep civilians from detecting them, which was a good thing so they didn't cause too much of a fuss. Hopefully they wouldn't catch too much attention from this, but Sakura didn't have much time and Sasuke had come to terms with accepting a punishment from Tsunade herself.
Sasuke looked back over his shoulder, shouting "Get the Hokage to the hospital, quickly! Summon Kakashi Hatake as well!" As he had finished his sentence, he continued to speed forward towards the hospital without breaking stride and uninterrupted by them, leaving the Chunin to make sense of the situation. The villagers beneath them passed by in a blur as they sped across the rooftops hoping that no one would try to stop them before they could get Sakura there. Sasuke rushed through the doors of the emergency wing of the hospital minutes later, Itachi right on his heels.
Upon realizing who had come into the hospital, the nursing staff froze immediately in fear before one older woman chose to speak up, clutching a clipboard to her chest so tightly her knuckles turned a bright white. "Sakura-san!?" she asked astonished, as she knew Sakura hadn't been seen around the hospital for weeks now. As the girl was unconscious and couldn't respond to her, the nurse turned her accusing stare to the men with Sakura. "What happened?" the brown-haired nurse demanded.
"I don't have time to explain. She requires medical attention," Sasuke commanded coldly to the nurse who stared straight into his Sharingan eyes. As if to agree with his statement, Sakura's body was wracked with a gut-wrenching cough, causing her to cough blood directly onto Sasuke's shirt. She fought to catch her breath as her organs began failing.
"Dammit can't you see she needs help?! Help her NOW!" Sasuke screamed at the hospital staff. Itachi stood menacingly next to him, likely causing them more hesitation than if Sasuke had been alone. The bold nurse nodded to her staff and they began rushing around them, two with a stretcher. When they reached Sasuke's side, the younger Uchiha almost unwillingly handed over Sakura. She seemed so small and broken as he lay her on the stretcher for them. The youngest Uchiha didn't have time to dwell on this thought, however, because nothing seemed to slow down for Sasuke. As his ex-teammate was being rushed back into an operating room, the Hokage herself strode into the hospital with two ANBU teams, Ibiki, Kurenai, and Kakashi hot on her heels.
"Uchiha! Both of you. Until this situation can be discussed in my office, the two of you are going to have to be detained and interrogated. My finest ninja are going to get the real story from the both of you on how this situation came to be. Considering you walked right into the village, I can't imagine you being in a mood to be difficult." As Tsunade said all of this, she was commanding everyone's attention in the emergency room in the hospital, and her heels could be heard with every step she took as she headed in the same direction that Sakura was taken. "I can't have the two of you causing problems in my village, getting all of the villagers civilians and ninja alike here riled up for no reason, and save Sakura at the same time. Be good kids while I take care of the most important thing right now." And with that she disappeared behind the same two swinging doors that Sakura had disappeared behind.
The ANBU squads didn't lower their guard like Tsunade had seemed to. As they approached the Uchiha brothers, both of them tensed when they saw the chakra bindings the ANBU squads were holding. Itachi shook his head once at Sasuke, guiding him silently not to resist. They both held their heads high as the chakra restraints were effectively put into place, shutting off any and all use of the rogue ninjas' chakra. Both of their Sharingan were effectively restricted by this, revealing the dark eyes they both shared. Ibiki and Anko stood to the side, arms crossed over their chests waiting to follow them for interrogation after they'd been put into separate holding cells beneath Hokage Tower.
Kakashi broke the awkward silence that had settled over the room while the ANBU squads took care of their assignment to seal the rogue ninjas' chakra. "You did good, Sasuke," the silver-haired Jonin conceded, patting his shoulder once in acknowledgement. Sasuke stared at him bewildered as his ex-sensei showed no malice as he had done during their last meeting. "I don't know what's going to happen to the both of you from here, but thank you for returning her to us," Kakashi said with a grim smile from underneath his mask.
"Let's go before we cause a bigger scene than you already have. Let's make this as painless as possible," Ibiki Morino taunted with a smirk to the Uchiha men as they were being escorted from the hospital grounds.
"Sakura..? Sakura, wake up!" a voice called out. Sakura couldn't make sense of who the voice might belonged to, but she knew it was male and that she should probably answer them. They sounded concerned. She couldn't remember much right now, but every part of her body hurt. What she could remember was fighting Light, and the pain in knowing that he was dead by her hands.
Was she dead? She couldn't be sure. Her body felt too heavy to move, and she couldn't hear any voices anymore. She honestly couldn't hear anything except for a high-pitched ringing in her ears. The kunoichi fought to move her body, to lift an arm, a finger, anything. She felt as if a weight was holding her down and she couldn't even open her eyes. If this is what dying felt like, she sincerely hoped that it would be over soon.
If she couldn't move her body, and if she wasn't dead, she'd die soon the girl reasoned with herself.
That was when she felt the burning agony from somewhere within her. Had someone actually set her on fire?! It felt like each labored breath she took set her lungs aflame , the fire eager to consume her. The thought of the fire reminded her of Sasuke and Itachi. They'd been there with her, with her when she ended Light. They were also the ones who had come to rescue her from the strange place she'd been in.. and then she finally made the connection that one of the voices trying to reach out to her probably had belonged to one of them. Had they decided to turn on her after all? Had those damned Uchiha's set her on fire?!
She could feel the fire licking its way up her throat, and she wondered if she was going to produce a fireball to rid herself of the awful burning sensation. Is this what it felt like every time to use a fire jutsu?! Surely not! If that were the case then any ninja in their right mind would never use a fire jutsu!
-..ep, beep, beep, be-be-beep, be-be-beep-
"Sakura, you have to calm down," Tsunade ordered sternly from somewhere next to her. The blonde with honey colored eyes wasn't even sure if her apprentice could hear her, but she hoped that she could anyway. It wouldn't hurt to try.
It was easier to hear now at least, Sakura thought to herself, but the pain was growing worse and the pink haired kunoichi cried out, not sure how much more she could endure.
"You're going to be fine, Sakura. I promise I will take care of you," Tsunade murmured soothingly as she used a wet washcloth to clean the blood from Sakura's face. Sakura's facial features tensed, and she attempted to shy away from her master's touch. "Shizune, why isn't she hooked up to an IV yet?!" the blonde barked out, agitated that the setup was taking longer than she would have liked. It was clear to everyone that Sakura was in great pain, but maybe Tsunade was just a bit biased that it was Sakura and not someone else on that operating table.
There were a handful of nurses scrambling around the operating room, performing tasks that Tsunade had already set them about doing. One of the nurses began strapping down Sakura's arms and legs so that she wouldn't interfere by accidentally pulling away the IV's that would no doubt be attached to her body soon. This was standard protocol for use on any ninja, as their strength generally far outmatched many of the medical staff. Another of the nurses had been preparing the IV drip of anesthetic, but Shizune hurriedly rushed her out of the way after Tsunade's remark.
"I'll take over from here Aiya," Shizune said as the nurse's shaking hands were pushed out of the way. She couldn't help but feel sorry for Aiya. Aiya was somewhat new to the hospital, and she'd grown close to Sakura while working there because they often shared the same shift. The mousy brunette looked to Sakura as a role model, and often sought her out for medical advice. It shook her terribly to see her role model lying there in critical condition, paired with the fact that she'd never been in an operating room with Tsunade-sama before. This was more than she could handle right now when trying to prepare the IV fluids. "Almost ready, Tsunade-sama!" the black haired medic responded back to the Hokage in panic.
Sakura wished that she could answer her shishou, but the damned burning in her throat cut off any noises that tried to escape her mouth. She heard what she thought was her own voice come out in a garbled cry filled with anguish.
"Clear her oxygen pathway! She's choking on her own blood! We can't intubate her until she's sedated!" one of the nurses hollered across the room at the Hokage. Along with the two nurses that were working in circles around them to prepare Sakura for emergency surgery and internal tissue repair, Tsunade stopped her prep and came back to Sakura's side.
"Dammit," Tsunade cursed loudly as she gently tilted Sakura's head to the side, allowing the blood that had filled her mouth to spill on the operating table and slowly drip to the floor of the pristine white operating room. Sakura gasped for air, having her oxygen pathways cleared for the moment. The small part of her that was conscious realized that her throat wasn't actually burning; there was indeed no fire jutsu being performed. She was feeling her own hot, fresh blood pooling in her mouth and suffocating her windpipe.
"Tsunade-sama, the IV is ready to be administered," one of the nurses, Aiya, said urgently. "What are you waiting for?!" Tsunade barked back at the nurse. Aiya nodded and regained her composure, ready to do anything in her power to aid in saving Sakura's life. It was at this moment Sakura felt a new pain added on top of her aching body, as if she didn't have enough pain right now to go around. It had to be from the IV being inserted into her right arm.
"Aiya, I need you to use your chakra as an anesthetic until the IV begins to take effect," Tsunade ordered from the other side of the room. "Her heart is beating too fast, and she's in too much pain. Mayumi, get her hooked up to some oxygen while we begin. Shizune, assist me with the healing of.." the voices around Sakura trailed off as soon as she felt a hand on her forehead, one that brought with it the sweet, cool numbness of medical chakra. Sakura finally felt the fire beginning to recede, and then she felt nothing.
"I'm off," Ino announced. She stood up from the stool that sat behind the counter and stretched, stifling a yawn and fighting the urge to take a nap. Her hands patted her back pocket, checking to make sure she hadn't forgotten her wallet and headed towards the door. She had been just about to head out of her family's flower shop to do some grocery shopping when her father stopped her, his face horror struck.
"Ino, could you hang on for just a minute?" her father asked abashed.
The striking blonde turned around to face her father, standing by the doorway of the shop waiting to see what he wanted. The bell rang softly as she had opened and then allowed the door to shut. Her bright cerulean eyes met periwinkle blue ones. "A-are you headed out to see Shikamaru? You've been seeing a lot of each other lately," her father began awkwardly.
Ino slapped her forehead in exaggeration, closing her eyes in annoyance. "Aw dad, come on! You can't be asking about Shikamaru again?! You already know we're dating. You gossip more than an old woman!" his daughter wasn't quiet about her shrieked complaints. A few of the customers let out quiet giggles, trying their best to mind their business.
Inoichi had been very included in Ino's personal life as of late. Once he'd gotten word of confirmation that she was in fact dating Shikamaru Nara, Inoichi was ever so interested in her dating life. Ino's mother reassured her that her father was only looking out for her. Her mother praised him, saying that he only wanted the best for his only child, but the stubborn blonde knew the truth. Her father approved of her choice in a boyfriend, if Shikamaru could even be called that. He was so happy with it that he and Shikaku, Shikamaru's dad, would have an excuse to spend more time drinking together than they already did.
Ino crossed her arms over her chest haughtily before she decided to answer her father. "As a matter of fact, I'm not going to see him right now. We did have plans after dinner, though. I was going to get groceries for mom, if you must know," she quipped angrily.
Inoichi covered his mouth with one finger, silently shushing his daughter and stepped closer to her. "That's actually what this is about, Ino."
"About me grocery shopping?" confusion colored her voice.
"No!" her father hissed at her in hushed tones. "It's our anniversary tomorrow, and your mother will know I forgot to get her a gift if I leave right now!" he admitted, face full of shame.
Ino couldn't help the bout of laughter than came over her. This wasn't the first time she had to buy her mother gifts because her father had forgotten an occasion over the years. "Sure Dad, not a problem. I'll pick out something nice," she answered back quietly, winking and playing along with him.
Inoichi's shoulders sagged with relief. "Thank you, Ino!" he rejoiced quietly.
"See you later!" she tugged on the door handle again, but this time it opened with more ease than usual. "Oh, I'm sorry! Come on i-" Ino cut off herself as she stood in front of two ANBU members.
"Inoichi Yamanaka?" one of the ANBU members asked in a muffled voice from behind his mask. Inoichi straightened his posture immediately, all thoughts of gifts and celebratory occasions aside. "Yes?" he responded formally.
The same ANBU spoke again. "You are needed beneath the Hokage Tower for the assistance in the interrogation of Sasuke Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha," the man reported, lacking emotion.
Sasuke?! Ino thought in shock as her mouth dropped. Here?! In Konoha? Wait so... Does that mean Sasuke completed the mission that Hinata's team had given to him?
"H-Hey! Is there an update on Sakura Haruno's whereabouts?!" the blonde girl begged anxiously from beside the ANBU members.
"Sakura Haruno is currently being treated by Hokage-sama. That is all we can say on the matter," the faceless ANBU member responded monotonously.
Ino's eyes locked with her father's for only a moment before she was sprinting out the door towards the hospital. Sakura's home?! He actually brought her back?!
Ino zigged and zagged through the crowded streets in the direction of the hospital. Her eyes scanned the crowds, ignoring the annoyed looks she was receiving. Just as she was about to jump onto the rooftops, Ino skidded to a stop as a familiar laugh caught her attention. She turned her attention to the very familiar Ichiraku Ramen stand that she and her friends frequented. Of course Naruto would be there right now with Hinata! The pair had just finished paying and were turning around to leave when they met a breathless Ino.
"Guys! Quick! Sakura's in the hospital! Come on," Ino urged them to follow after her, panting. Both caught off guard, they were running to keep up with the kunoichi.
"Oi! Ino! Is it true?!" Naruto screeched from beside her, anxiety filled eyes searching her face for answers. The Hyuuga heiress was only two steps behind the two blondes, her face full of worry and stress.
"It has to be true! Some ANBU members just came to the flower shop to summon my father for him to lead an interrogation on Sasuke and his brother! I asked for an update on Sakura and they said that Tsunade-sama was treating her right now!" Ino exclaimed, out of breath.
"What the hell happened to her for her to be in the hospital?!" Naruto cursed angrily.
Ino shook her head. "I don't know anything else Naruto! I just told you everything I know."
"We'll just have to go ask that bastard Sasuke what happened! Did you say Sasuke's brother was here to be interrogated to? If I find out that he had anything to do with Sakura-chan being hurt, I'll beat the bastard's brother myself," Naruto snapped, infuriated that Sakura was harmed.
"N-Naruto-kun, we need to go check on Sakura first, don't we?" Hinata chimed in nervously from behind them. Naruto clenched his fists and took a deep breath. Hinata was right; checking on Sakura was more important right now.
"Yeah, you're right Hinata," Naruto admitted. "Sorry for taking it out on you, Ino."
"It doesn't matter, let's just hurry!"
Naruto had gained the lead and pushed his way through the hospital doors. The two girls were struggling to catch up and couldn't stop his rash behavior. "Where is she?!" Naruto yelled at the lady behind the desk.
"E-excuse me?" the receptionist answered from behind a thin pair of glasses.
"Sakura! Where's Sakura! I know she's here," Naruto gritted his teeth together, slamming his fist down on the desk.
"S-she's still in the operating room. Sir, I'm sorry but you'll have to lower your voice and come back later!" the receptionist stood firmly, gesturing for him to leave.
"Like hell-"
Ino covered Naruto's mouth and whispered harshly in his ear. "Behave idiot! If we get kicked out we won't be able to see her at all!"
Naruto growled in anger but didn't resist his blonde friend. He turned around to meet the others, and it was Ino who helped talk sense into him.
"Look Naruto, if she's still in surgery then there's nothing we can do. We can sit down and wait on the benches."
Hinata's gaze never left the angry blonde that was the source of her infatuation. "Ino's right, N-Naruto-kun," she stuttered quietly.
Before Naruto could argue further, Ino spoke to cut him off. "Listen to us. No matter how badly you want to see her, you can't do anything to interrupt an operation. Even though I pull a few shifts here every now and then, I know better than to try to go in there and interrupt Tsunade-sama. You and I both know that would do more harm than good, and if Tsunade-sama really is in there, she'd kill you! Not only that, we can't go see Sasuke right now and talk to him because of the ongoing interrogation. And who knows how long that will take? All we can do is wait!" Ino's tone insisted that she was right, and Naruto slumped down onto one of the seats of the bench nearest to them in defeat.
Hinata and Ino both sat with him, beginning what felt to be one of the longest waits of their life. Hinata grabbed Naruto's hand for support, and he didn't seem bothered by it. Ino crossed one leg over the other and tried her best to put on a calm facade to keep Naruto at bay, but she was having a hard time herself. She needed to see Sakura and know that she was okay. Then she needed to go find Shikamaru and tell him that Sakura was finally home and spread the good news. But before she could spread the good news, she needed to find Sasuke and see how the hell he managed to pull this off.
Ino glanced at the couple sitting beside her, wondering how Naruto hadn't had another outburst. If she could guess, it was the Hyuuga sitting beside him lending her support. Seconds, then minutes, and maybe even an hour ticked by, but none of them spoke. Ino wondered idly if she should be trying to make some sort of small talk, but she couldn't find the words. Not until Tsunade herself came out from the operating room.
"Tsunade-sama! Baa-chan!" Ino and Naruto yelled in unison. All three ninja jumped up from their seats.
Honey colored eyes locked onto both sets of blue eyes, and a pair of pearl colored ones. She smirked and responded, "I should have known you would be here already. I didn't think you'd be here this fast, though," Tsunade said in disbelief.
"How is she?!" Naruto was the first to ask.
"She's going to be fine, Naruto. She's back home now and she is going to be just fine," Tsunade replied, voice filled with relief.
The three ninja who had been waiting to hear this news let out a breath they hadn't realized they were holding. "Can we see her?" Hinata asked shyly from Naruto's side.
"Of course. We're transporting her to a room right now. She'll have to stay in the hospital for at least two weeks, maybe longer depending on her rate of recovery. I don't know all the details myself, but she had major internal damage to the area surrounding her chest, namely her lungs and her heart. She must have healed herself before reaching me, otherwise I don't see how she could have made it," her voice trailed off.
"Two weeks? But she's okay, right!?" Ino repeated for clarification.
Tsunade nodded. "I want to monitor her closely and be sure that her body continues to function and heal as it should. I'm going to warn you first. Before you go visit with her, she's going to be unconscious for quite a while. I wouldn't be surprised if she remained unconscious for a few days. Until I get all the specifics from Sakura's mission, I'm going to be cautious with her road to recovery."
Tsunade walked the three ninja up to the receptionist's desk, requesting that she have someone escort them to Sakura's hospital room.
"I would go with you three, but I have other business to attend to as I'm sure you're already aware. Don't cause any trouble. Keep an eye on her for me," Tsunade ordered before she turned to leave the hospital.
"Right this way, please," the receptionist began walking down a long corridor, and the three of them followed. Before they made it to Sakura's room, the receptionist listed off rules and visiting hours. "I'm going to have to ask that you remain quiet while inside her hospital room. Loud commotion of any kind will negatively impact not only her healing process, but any of our patients in the vicinity. Please be respectful while you're here," she listed off nasally. "Here we are. Visiting hours are over at nine," the lady reminded them before she walked away.
Ino opened the door and her heart sank at what she saw. Her best friend was lying in a bed, tubes everywhere and hooked up to at least three different machines. Her pink hair was matted with blood, and she was covered with bandages. Naruto pushed Ino aside far enough for him to enter the room, and he sat down solemnly in the only available chair next to Sakura's bedside, gently taking her hand.
"O-oh.." Hinata mumbled from beside Ino, her eyes filling with tears. Ino looked over to Hinata, and the movement of her head caused her own tears to spill over. She hadn't even realized that she'd been crying. Ino pulled Hinata into a hug, as they both shared Sakura as a dear friend, and they both cried because Sakura was home, and because she'd been through so much without them there to help her.
After the girls had found the strength to pull themselves back together, Ino headed over to check the machines that were hooked up to Sakura. All of her readings showed that for the time being, she was stable. So with that, Ino set about finding a nurse who could help to clean up the blood from Sakura's mess of tangled pink hair. She knew Sakura wouldn't want to lay there like that, and she didn't want her to be reminded of anything when she finally did wake up. Ino didn't want Sakura to have to worry about anything. She was going to do as Tsunade asked and take care of her the best she could.
"I'll be back," Ino called over her shoulder as she left the hospital room.
Hinata glanced at Naruto who had been talking quietly to Sakura. He was telling her everything that she had missed while she was gone, specifically all of the trips she had missed going with him and Hinata to Ichiraku for ramen. The sun was beginning to go down, and that meant visiting hours would soon be over. She wondered what Naruto would do whenever he got kicked out of the hospital for the night. It didn't take a genius to figure out, but she guessed he'd be found somewhere under the Hokage Tower in search of speaking to a certain Uchiha.
