For- Scattergories Challenge (Percy, park)

Alpha and Omega Challenge (extemporaneous)

The winter wind caresses his cheeks, and Percy fights a shiver, pulling his coat tighter around his body. "I hate the cold," he mutters with a small scowl in Audrey's direction.

There's no mistaking the smirk that plays at her lips. For a moment, Percy wonders if this walk in the park is just another attempt to pull him out of his comfort zone, to live in the moment as she does. "I know you do," she says at last, no apology in her tone.

Percy fights the urge to groan, trying to force himself to enjoy her company as she leads him towards the swings. In spite of his best efforts, he still finds himself inwardly cursing everything about winter. He would much rather curl up by the fireplace with a nice book and soothing cup of cocoa, things that Audrey deems too safe, too boring.

When they come to a stop at last, she turns to him, her eyes ablaze with mischief as though she's just thought of some fun new idea. Percy braces himself for the worst. Audrey's definition of fun is horribly different from his own.

"You should marry me," she says with a broad grin.

It takes Percy several moments to process this. He'd been expecting a suggestion to go skinny dipping in the frozen pond or fight some sort of arctic beast. But a proposal? "Did you drag me out here just to ask me to marry you?"

"I didn't ask," she corrects. "I demanded. And no. Wasn't even on my mind, but hey. You hate cold weather. Why not give you something good to relate it to?"

Percy laughs. Audrey is impossible, but that's exactly why he loves her. "I don't suppose you have a ring, do you?"

She laughs. "Nope. Downside of never planning ahead."

"We can sort that out later, then," he decides, taking her hand. "Should we finish our date before planning our wedding?"

Audrey makes a face, shaking her head. "Planning isn't really my style," she reminds him with a quick kiss.

"Trust me," he laughs. "I know."
