Here it finally is, glee fans! The final chapter!
Thank you so much to all of my loyal followers and reviewers! Couldn't have done it without your support :) This chapter is dedicated to all of you.
I hope that my next story is just as successful as this one. Till the next story, loyal readers ;)
The whole courtroom was in complete silence. Not only had the people of Venicus finally found their long lost prince, but he had memories of both the past and present in his mind, the knight Blaine was telling the truth the entire time, and they were about to potentially lose their prince again.
Burt stared at his son in shock. Kurt continued to stand tall and proud as he and Blaine remained under the protection of the sphere. The sceptre in Kurt's hand continued to glow with intensity. Despite being unused for a better part of a year, Kurt's magic was still strong as ever. There was something, however, that Burt couldn't put his finger on. The last time he saw his son he knew about the sceptre and the power it could help his son yield, but Kurt was never taught the chant and he never successfully summoned the Hummel family sceptre either. Burt, himself, hadn't successfully summoned the sceptre since the great invasion that took his dear beloved away. When Elizabeth died, Burt thought that the magic of the sceptre died with her.
"…Kurt…." Burt said brokenly, his eyes welling up with tears. "You…you cannot mean that. This is your home, where you belong."
"Where I belong is by the side of the person I love, father!" Kurt immediately replied. "I mean every word I say. If you banish Blaine right now then believe me when I say that I will renounce my claim to the throne. If Blaine goes then I go with him."
"Please….don't make me do this, Kurt! I cannot lose you again," Burt yelled.
"I do not want to lose my father again, either! But I cannot live in a world where a part of my heart, a part of my soul is gone. My mother is dead, father!"
Everyone gasped at the Prince's words.
"She died because she was trying to protect me," Kurt continued. "That eats at me every single day. I lost my memories but I still felt that guilt even on Earth. What about you? She was the love of your life! Don't you feel the loss?"
"Of course I do!" Burt yelled, slamming his fist on the table in front of him. "Elizabeth meant everything to me and to this kingdom! She was the light and soul of my life. When she died a part of myself died with her."
"Then how can you stand there and pretend that my feelings for Blaine are not real?" Kurt cried, a tear escaping his eye. "How can you force that feeling onto me by banishing Blaine away? That is the cruelest thing one can ever do."
"…Kurt…." Blaine whispered quietly. "Please….stop this…"
Blaine's words fell on deaf ears. Blaine wanted so badly for Kurt to be with him again, just like they always planned but he will not be held responsible for a feud between family. He certainly will not be responsible for the kingdom losing their one and only heir again.
"….He took you from me…" Burt said sadly.
"He did no such thing. The Brothers of Blood separated us. They are gone now. Father, please, waver the charges against Sir Blaine. You said so yourself, he saved us all. He saved ME. I beg of you to spare him."
"Kurt….the kingdom….they need you. I need you. Even if I waver these charges, no one will accept this. Your mother knew it and so did I."
"That's a lie!" someone yelled in the courtroom.
People started gasping and whispering.
"Who dares interrupt the King?" Artemis yelled angrily.
In the middle of the courtroom, Finn stood up from his seat and stared at King Burt.
"Your a human!" someone hissed in the courtroom. "How dare you speak ill of the king."
"Yes I may be human," Finn began. "But Kurt said that this magical kingdom was created separate to the human world because you respected us. We were once part of your subjects but, if you still respect us now, does that not mean we are still your subjects now?"
People continued to whisper amongst themselves.
"Kurt is my adopted brother. His family protected us centuries ago and we protected him now. Blaine never knew of us when he came to Earth but the entire time he was there, he project Kurt more than anything. He protected my friends and I, simple humans, from the vampires too. Honour, bravery, love, isn't that what deems a ruler great?"
"He's right!" Rachel said, standing up next to him. "On Earth we have royals who recently married commoners and you know what? They are the best thing to happen to the royal family! They became true voices for the people. Princess Diana, the people's princess, Duchess Kate, Princess Grace, all commoners who married the royals for love and gave so much back to their fellow commoners. They taught their royal husbands more about common life, to treat others with love."
Kurt smiled at Rachel and Finn. He, of course, had no idea who they were talking about but he knew they were telling the truth.
"You all would be lucky enough to have a dream team like Prince Kurt and Sir Blaine fighting for your kingdom, leading your kingdom to greater things," Finn added. "So, as subjects of your realm, Rachel and I say we accept Sir Blaine as the Prince consort."
As soon as that was said, all of the other McKinley students stood up next to Finn.
"Here, here," Puck yelled, patting Finn on the back.
"Didn't know Finn knew such big words," Santana whispered to Mercedes, earning a small laugh.
"With all due with respect," Henry began, causing Wes to roll his eyes. "But you are humans and yes you were once our subjects you are now not."
"Then let's change that!" Jeff said, standing up next to the humans. "I agree with Finn. I accept Sir Blaine as the Prince Consort."
"Here, here" Nick said joining his mate.
Wes and David immediately stood up next to them.
Their fathers stared in shock at their sons. This is by far disobeying orders.
"It's an epidemic, Your Highness!" Henry said. "My apologies for our sons' disobedience!"
"How is it disobedience?" Kurt yelled angrily. "They are standing up for what they believe. They are standing up for their prince and their alpha. As subjects, they have a right to say what happens in our kingdom. Our monarchy, father, was built to be the voice of our subjects, to protect and serve them! Listen to the voices of our subjects!"
"I accept Sir Blaine," Artemis yelled.
Darius and Alister stood up from their seats and walked over to stand with Artemis Anderson. While they did that, more people in the courtroom started standing up from their seats yelling; "I agree".
"I agree"
"I agree"
"I accept him"
"I agree"
"Let Prince Kurt rule"
"I agree"
Kurt watched in amazement as the people he has sworn to protect, the people that he believed would turn in shock and horror at his choice in partner and sexual orientation stood up one by one against the king. Carole and the other nurses stood up against the king.
"Do you hear them, father?" Kurt yelled again as more and more people started yelling. "Do you hear what your subjects are saying?"
Finally, everyone in the entire courtroom were standing in their places in solidarity to their long lost prince. The only people now who remained sitting was King Burt, Sir Henry and Sir Felix.
"We want Prince Kurt," a Dutchess of the Venicus court yelled out. "We want Prince Kurt as our heir, no matter whom he chooses to be by his side."
"That's right!" A Lord added. "If Prince Kurt continues to lead as well as his ancestors have, and he chooses someone worthy of his love who does right by the subjects then we don't care who or what they are."
Blaine lowered his head, tears falling freely from his face. Ever since he started dating Kurt, they had always dreamed of what it would be like for the kingdom to not only accept Kurt's orientation but to accept Blaine as his chosen partner. In all the scenarios and all of the dreams, Blaine could have never imagined this - every high court member standing behind them both in complete disobedience to the king. The emotions he was feeling were completely overwhelming and he never knew that it would feel this good. Blaine looked at the corner of his eye and even saw Sebastian and his new tall friend standing behind them.
"Hear them NOW, father!" Kurt yelled again. "Do you hear what they are saying? I am their Prince and I have sworn an oath to be their voice and protect them. That is the only oath that matters. No other oath matters."
King Burt and his last few allies were left in complete shock. The guards sat in their places not knowing what to do or who to follow. Kurt noticed that the guards wouldn't dare move again so he finally lowered his shield.
"Retract Blaine's banishment, father, or you not only lose your son again but you lose the trust of your people," Kurt said sternly. "I have finally returned home. The kingdom of Venicus is safe. The Brothers of Blood have been defeated. It's over! Let your anger towards Blaine go. There is no need for vengeance now. I'm finally home."
That was the last straw. King Burt jumped over the table and ran towards Kurt, pulling him straight into his arms. King Burt was crying into his son's shoulder as the pair refused to let go.
"My son, my dear son, you're home," Burt cried. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I failed you."
Kurt couldn't hold back his tears either. Sir Felix looked at the gavel and stood up to the King's podium.
"In light of Prince Kurt's testimony, this court finds Sir Blaine cleared of all charges," Felix announced and banged the gavel.
The entire courtroom bursted out in applause. Everyone hugged each other and cheered. The wolf pack pushed through everyone and immediately ran towards Blaine.
"Blaine! You survived!" Nick yelled happily.
Jeff got to the wolf first and pulled him into a hug. "You did it!"
Blaine was frozen. Everything happened so quickly. He was completely overwhelmed now that he was finally free, the guilt was gone, everyone was safe, his Kurt was back, and Venicus approve. It was all too much for him and finally exhaustion overwhelmed and suddenly the world went black.
"Blaine!" he heard Wes yelled before he felt someone catch him….then nothing.
The sound of someone tinkering around him perked Blaine's ears. He could hear someone quietly having a conversation with a woman…..then there was another family high-pitched voice…..murmurs…..machinery….then he heard the turn of a book.
The first thing Blaine saw when he woke up was a piercing bright light. He moaned to himself, shutting his eyes quickly. He regretted opening them immediately.
"So…you're finally awake," a voice said.
Blaine slowly opened his eyes and noticed a figure sitting next to him as he read a book. The figure sighed in annoyance and closed the curtain behind him. Blaine was grateful for it. When the light was blocked, Blaine carefully looked around his surroundings and found that he was in his bedroom. The books were still the same with the fireplace burning brightly to keep him warm. Blaine finally looked at the figure next to him and groaned in annoyance. He was now not grateful for their help with the curtain.
"Sebastian…." Blaine groaned, trying to sit up.
"Easy there, wolf boy," Sebastian said, closing his book and looking at Blaine. "Go slow, you have less energy then you once did."
"Why do you care?" Blaine hissed, now sitting completely upright in his bed.
"Because, unfortunately for me, Hunter is encouraging me to play nice with others since I am the new leader of the vampires. He wants me to make new friends."
"So….why are you here?"
"I drew the short straw so I got to baby sit you today. Everyone else has been here watching over you around the clock," Sebastian explained, putting the book back into Blaine's book case.
"Around the clock?" Blaine repeated in confusion. "How….how long have I been out?"
"A week," Sebastian answered still looking at the book case.
"A week! That doesn't make sense!"
"Blaine," Sebastian began walking over to the wolf and sitting back in his seat. "The nurse, admittedly who is very attractive-"
"She's Nick's mother," Blaine interrupted.
"….Even better….I did like the blonde. You know what they say? The quiet ones are always the most spontaneous in bed."
"Ew….gross!" Blaine groaned. "Why are you here?"
"As I said, it's my turn for Blaine watch. Trust me, I'm not happy about it either."
"Who is Hunter, anyway?"
"6 feet of tall, dark and handsome who is also a pain in my ass-"
"I thought you'd like-"
"Shut up!" Sebastian hissed, his eyes turning red. They returned to normal after a few seconds. "As cute as he is, he is also sent by your father to be my babysitter. Besides his face, I keep him around since he studied under my mother back in the day."
"What happened to me?"
"Just as a princess would, you fainted from exhaustion. Doc Eliana said you hadn't slept in days, barely ate, and the stress and overwhelming emotions you experienced caused you to faint. You've been out of it for a whole week."
"Is Kurt okay!?" Blaine demanded.
"Kurt is fine," Sebastian said, dismissing the comment with his hand. "Your lover boy hasn't really been seen since the courtroom. He and his father have been….talking."
"But he is….he is still…..him?"
Sebastian sighed in annoyance. "All in good time," he said before he stood up from the seat again. "Now that you are up, I am supposed to drag your butt out of bed."
"Where am I going?"
"It's a secret," Sebastian said. "Now move it."
Blaine groaned as he put on the clothes Sebastian threw at him. Luckily Sebastian was now on their side otherwise Blaine would have loved to punch him again. Soon the pair were making their way to the other end of the castle. Sebastian refused to explain to Blaine where he was being taken. The pair barely talked the entire way but soon Sebastian had led Blaine to a tall oak door with golden writing on the front.
"King Burt's study," Blaine gasped. "Why….why did you bring me here?"
Sebastian smirked and said nothing before he turned and left Blaine alone in front of the door. His heart was racing. The last time he saw the king, well, things didn't exactly go well. There were many scenarios playing in Blaine's mind and he was going to make sure he was prepared for anything when he walked in. After five minutes of standing in silence, Blaine finally got the courage to knock on the large door.
The knocks echoed down the abandoned castle hallway. No response followed the knocks but the door opened on its own. Blaine slowly walked inside and then the door slammed shut behind him. Blaine looked up and saw King Burt writing on his desk.
Blaine was about to say something when a chair magically revealed and scooped up Blaine and shoved him to the other side of Burt's desk. After a few more seconds of writing, King Burt finally looked up at Blaine.
"Blaine…" Burt said sternly.
Blaine was about to get up and kneel but the chair kept him where he sat.
"I am…glad to see that you're awake," King Burt continued.
"Um…..thank you….sire."
"You're probably wondering why you were brought here."
"With all due with respect, I am more curious why Sebastian is wondering the halls unsupervised."
King Burt gave a small chuckle. "Hunter Clarington has him under control and I trust that boy. He also has more power then the young vampire prince so I am not too worried."
"Alright….then yes, why am I here?"
Burt said nothing as he stood up from his seat and turned to look out the large window overlooking the palace gardens.
"I….I asked for you to be brought here because…..because I wish to apologise to you, Blaine."
Blaine's mouth dropped. In all the things he had imagined before he walked in, he never thought he would get an apology from the king.
"You…..you were right," the king continued, still looking out the window. "In my grief over losing Kurt and Elizabeth, I let my anger control me. I needed someone to blame to make sense of everything and I, regrettably, placed the blame on you."
"Sire…." Blaine began but a hand from the king shut him up real quick.
"Yes, you disobeyed orders and you kept secrets from me, however you still have done so much good for this kingdom and for my family. You tried to protect Elizabeth and Kurt in their final moments - something that to this day I wish I could have done. The real person who I should have been blaming was myself. As a father and husband I failed. I abandoned them to fight for the kingdom that day and it should have been me to protect them."
"Sire, you tried to protect them. You fought with my father so you could buy them time to escape."
"And yet I stand here today and my wife doesn't. I will have to come to terms with my guilt and failure some day but for today, I am sorry for the anger and blame I put on you. It was unfair and despite the mistakes you made they did not warrant potential banishment and exile."
"Um….thank you, sire."
King Burt turned around to look back at Blaine. "You have protected my son ever since he was born."
"Of course, Sire. I would continue to do so till my last dying breath."
"And if you weren't his chosen suitor?"
"He will always be first and foremost my charge. I am his sworn protector whether he still wants me or not, Sire. That will never change. Through all that has happened, Your Highness, loyalty has always been and always will be to the crown. I jeopardised my life to save Prince Kurt, not Kurt who I loved more than anything."
"…..I see…."
"Believe me, Sire, whether the Prince still wants me in his life, I will always be loyal to the both of you and any other heirs he may have with another. I promise, this experience has taught me to train harder to control my emotions. If we were no longer together, I will not allow my emotions to get in the way again. It has hurt me deeply to go against you, Sire. I never wanted this and I always cherished your trust in me."
"You also had my wife's trust till the very end."
"I still blame myself for not protecting her harder, Sire."
"You did the best you could," King Burt said sadly. "I saw surveillance after….that night….and you fought valiantly."
"Thank you," Blaine replied sadly too.
"It will take time for me to regain my trust in you, Blaine," King Burt continued.
"I understand that Sire, and I would do anything and everything to win it back."
"Defeating the Brothers of Blood was a good start," the king joked causing Blaine to laugh.
"I would do it again, Sire."
"Which is why I am giving you a change to earn back my trust. I will not strip you of your rank and you may continue to lead your pack as Alpha."
"Sire…what? I….I cannot believe it."
"Believe it, Blaine. However, I cannot say that you will be Prince Kurt's protector again."
Blaine's heart plummeted. Who was he if he didn't fulfil his birth right?
"If you love my son as much as you so you do, and as much as I see in your eyes, then I have no objection to you. Which is why I am leaving the decision up to Kurt whether you remain as his protector. I have never had an objection to you, Blaine. You have all of the great qualities any parent would be proud to see with their child."
"Wow….um….thank you….Your Highness."
"The only reason why I objected to you was due to the law and whether my son's….orientation….was of no importance to the kingdom. Last week showed me that he is still trusted by our subjects and if they agree with the qualities that I see in you then I see no reason why there should be any further objection. You must know, Sir Blaine, that yesterday I signed a new law allowing any heir of this kingdom to marry whomever the chose."
Blaine's eyes widened as he stared in shock at the king.
"W-what?"
"The reason why you haven't seen Prince Kurt while you have been under bed rest is because he has been fighting for you this whole time. He has helped me to see my ill-placed anger and helped me pave a new era for this kingdom. One of which being the new marriage law for the royal family."
"….Um….you….wow…."
"It is a lot to take in," Burt said moving around to stand next to Blaine. "It is my present to you as an apology. I will not be the thing that stands between my son's happiness. I love him more than anything and if he wants to chose his suitor then so be it. He also doesn't have to marry at 18 now. Now, it is up to my son to decide who he wants by his side."
"Sire, I can't thank you enough," Blaine said standing up from his seat.
"My boy," King Burt said, clapping a hand on his shoulder. "It is I who should be thanking you. You saved my son, saved my kingdom, and brought my boy home. This is the least I could do. Now your hardest task is to win the prince over."
"But…..I thought….his memories…..are they truly back?"
"You two lost a whole year together," King Burt said. "Don't make assumptions. Kurt has to decide if he still wants you by his side in that way."
"I understand, Sire."
King Burt nodded and Blaine walked out of the study, closing the door behind him. Blaine lent his head back against the door, closing his eyes. He had to take everything the king said and let it sink in. He was so not expecting anything like that. Why won't someone just tell him if Kurt did remember everything? Blaine's memories of last week were sketchy and he just needed someone to put him out of his misery.
Realising that he was leaning against the King's study door, Blaine opened his eyes and started heading down the hallway. He was lost in his thoughts and still hadn't found a trace of Kurt. Needing some time to himself, Blaine went down a hallway, the same secret hallway he once took Kurt to spy on a meeting.
Blaine looked up at the exact same portrait and felt his heart tighten. He closed his eyes remembering the memory. He just had to find Kurt, but the palace and the surrounding grounds were massive. Even though Blaine was dismissed of his charges, he knew he had to tread carefully with the king. He knew he couldn't rush back to Kurt, he had to listen to the king's words and let Kurt come back to him when he was ready. Blaine was so lost in his thoughts that his senses didn't pick up another presence in the room, or notice when someone came up behind him.
"So now you are officially my protector….again."
Blaine's eyes widened instantly at the voice and that one phrase made him remember the night he was knighted by King Burt. His heart instantly raced and he couldn't bear to turn around thinking it was all a dream.
"…..Kurt….?" Blaine whispered shakily.
It was no way near afraid of Kurt. Blaine was afraid that if he turned around, Kurt would disappear and then this interaction would have been all in his head.
Kurt chuckled as he kept his face right by Blaine's ear. The noise sent shivers up and down Blaine's spine. Blaine tried to keep his composure. He needed Kurt to make the moves, just as he once did, otherwise Blaine would get in trouble and without knowing what memories he retains, Blaine could lose Kurt again if he pushed him.
"So…how did you put it again? Oh, right. You said 'when we are alone you could do whatever you wanted'. What did I say next?"
Blaine closed his eyes, still not moving or talking. He had to know which Kurt was there and he couldn't push him again.
"What did I say next, Sir Blaine?" Kurt teased, moving to Blaine's other ear.
"Y-you….you said 'a-and what exactly….could the big b-bad wolf do?"
Kurt smiled and he moved his face away from Blaine. Blaine opened his eyes again and saw Kurt standing directly in front of him. He was wearing the same clothes as he did on earth with the same gelled back hair but…he was wearing the medallion still and had the prince's circlet on his head.
"Surely he doesn't see me as little red riding hood," Kurt finished the sentence as he stared with a soft smile at Blaine.
Blaine's mouth fell open a little at not only the sight of Kurt standing alive and well in front of him, but reciting one of the memories that had been playing over and over again in his head for months. A memory that occurred when Blaine was 15 and Kurt was 13.
Tears started to well up in Blaine's eyes. "…K-kurt….you…."
"You are lucky that witches are on your side, Sir Blaine," Kurt teased.
"But….I thought….I-I'm….I'm so sorry…." Blaine stuttered.
Kurt finally decided to stop their favourite teasing game and walked closer to Blaine. The prince now had a serious look on his face. The intensity of Kurt's gaze forced the alpha to stare at the young prince.
"You promised me that day that I would always be safe with you," Kurt began.
That was it. Blaine lost it. The tears fell from his eyes and started running down his face. Kurt may have both memories from his past and present but he was furious at him. He was mad at Blaine for not coming to him sooner, for failing him and his mother, and Blaine deserved it.
"I-I know…" Blaine gulped. "I….I failed you."
"If there is one thing that I know, Blaine Anderson, apart from you being on stubborn and prideful alpha, is that I can count on you, no matter what happens."
Blaine continued to stare at the prince but his tears stopped at the same words he said that day. The alpha then noticed that Kurt's face softened, and his mouth turned into a smile.
"I never lost my faith in you, Blaine."
As soon as those words left Kurt's mouth, the same ones he said the night of Blaine's knighthood, Blaine let out a soft cry and fell to his knees in front of Kurt. Tears continued to fall from Blaine's eyes and his body shook. Kurt immediately knelt in front of Blaine and placed both hands on his shoulders, forcing Blaine to look at him again.
"I never lost my faith in you, Blaine," Kurt repeated sternly but softly.
"But…but….' Blaine stuttered through his tears. "I failed you. I-I'm so sorry."
"You brought me back, Blaine," Kurt said. "You did not fail. You came for me, kept me safe, just as you promised. I never once, in all the time I was on Earth, lost faith in you."
"I failed you, Kurt," Blaine cried. "You were sent there because of me! You lost your memories because of me! How….how can you…."
"Why don't I hate you?" Kurt asked with a small smile.
Blaine couldn't answer verbally, the tightening in his chest was too much so he merely nodded in reply. He turned his head away from the prince, looking at the floor in shame. A prince shouldn't be wasting his time on the floor with him - a failure.
"Look at me, Blaine," Kurt ordered gently.
Blaine's wolf complied with the prince's order and looked back at him. Kurt smiled sadly and cupped Blaine's face in his hands, wiping the tears with this thumbs.
"Because I love you, Blaine Anderson."
Blaine whined and closed his eyes as more tears fell. He felt like he didn't deserve to hear those words especially not from an amazing prince as Kurt.
"I loved you for many years, Blaine Anderson. I loved you before the accident, I loved during the accident and I still love you now."
"But…but how? How can you?" Blaine asked opening his eyes again. "I don't deserve it. I put you in danger by giving you that amulet. I forced poison into you. I let the vampires take you away. You sat across from me, after being apart for a year with no memory, and asked why no one came for you. You were bullied, in pain, and I couldn't prevent it. I am not worthy of being your protector again and I am not worthy of you love now."
"That amulet saved my life!" Kurt yelled, slightly tightening his grip on Blaine's face. "That poison saved me from Cedric and you saved me by giving me that antidote when you did. Yes I said those things at Dalton, but you were always on my mind. Those hazel eyes haunted my every moment in my dreams. They gave me peace in a world where I thought I was alone. You came back to me, Blaine. You stood up to Karofsky and you used your wolf on him - I know you did. I want you, Blaine Anderson, to be my protector. I chose you when I was merely a few days old. I chose you then and I choose you now. I will always be in love with you. That's not going to change today or two weeks from now. I will be just as in love with you in twenty years as I am today."
"I….I'm so…so sorry, Kurt."
"Please Blaine…." Kurt said, closing his eyes and leaning against Blaine's forehead. "I need you, Blaine. There is no one else I trust with my heart but you. You have proven to me that you are capable of being my protector. I cannot go back to that life as a child of living in a shell of a person because I cannot be with the person I love. Please….do not make you go back to that. Do not turn me away now, Blaine."
"I…..I would never turn you away…."
"Then get rid of all of this guilt. I don't blame you, I never did. I said some hurtful things to you when Sebastian found me but they are not true. I should know. I have both sets of memories."
"I…I can't…."
"Yes you can. My father says you can, my people say you can, and I say you can. There are no more secrets, we don't have to live in secret, Blaine. The only person keeping us apart right now is you. There are eighty-six thousand, four hundred seconds in a day. There are one hundred and sixty-eight hours in a week. Around eighty-seven hundred and then some hours in a year, and you know what?...I want to spend every second, every minute, every hour with you, Blaine. I want a year's worth of seconds and hours with you. I want a decade's worth of hours. It was only you, Blaine, right from the start."
Kurt gently removed his hands from Blaine's face and leant closer till his mouth was right by Blaine's ear again.
"I forgive you, Blaine," Kurt whispered.
Blaine's eyes snapped open and it was phrase he had been yearning to hear Kurt say since he disappeared. Kurt may think it wasn't Blaine's fault, but the wolf still did and hearing those words just made everything right. Blaine stopped his tears and lifted his head to look straight at Kurt.
"I forgive you, Blaine," Kurt repeated knowing it was what Blaine needed to hear. "I am safe and I am still me. I didn't forget you, Blaine."
Blaine shakily lifted his hand and grazed Kurt's cheek.
"I love you, Kurt. I am madly, deeply, truly, passionately in love with you."
"Good," Kurt said before he closed the gap and gently slammed his lips on Blaine's.
Blaine immediately melted into the kiss with ease. It felt so right, so perfect, like his heart was finally putting itself back together. The other half of him was returning. The kiss soon turned passionate as Kurt held onto the back of Blaine's neck and pulled him in tighter. Soon the pair needed to breathe and they slowly pulled away, leaning their foreheads against each other.
"You remember everything?" Blaine asked as he tried to steady his breath.
"I remember everything, Mr Teenage Dream," Kurt teased with a wink. "I'm so glad you found me."
"Technically you found me," Blaine joked causing Kurt to laugh. "But I would have searched the entire planet for you, Kurt. Please, don't leave me again."
"I don't intend to. You're always in my heart."
I always knew that Blaine Anderson was someone special from the moment he first met my son. Sure there were ups and downs but love does conquer all in the end.
Since my beloved son remembered all of his memories, Blaine returned to his side as his protector. They announced their love to the world and just as displayed in the courtroom, the people of Venicus rejoiced in the return of their prince and his chosen suitor. Everyone in the kingdom knew Sir Blaine and his famous courage and bravery, how could they not accept him as a suitor?
I for one knew all along that Blaine was destined to bring my son happiness. They just needed it to find out on their own.
As for my dear husband? Well….sweet Carole Hudson and her son decided to stay at the palace a little while longer. My husband found love again in Carole and I for one am very pleased. No one should have to go on in this world without love. I sent Carole to Burt so she could heal his broken heart. I know that my husband will always love me and I will always love him. I just hope one day he realises that his is not to blame for what happened to me. I have never blamed him. My defeat was to save my son, and any mother would do the exact same thing.
Young Sebastian Smythe slowly adjusted to life in Venicus. The kingdom took a long time to trust the vampire's intentions but with the help of my protege, Hunter Clarington, Sebastian seems to be going on the right path in life. His soldier, Daedalus, and his men helped rebuild the vampire community into a prosperous and peaceful society. Burt gave them a beautiful sector in the mountains to claim as their own, away from the darkness and hate. If my suspicions are correct…..perhaps Hunter will help young Sebastian overcome more than his father's twisted influence and teach him Lady Aurelia's teachings. My hope is that he will teach the young prince about trust, respect….and in time….love.
Life may be complicated and messy, as is love sometimes, but if two people are truly meant to be together, they will indeed find each other again…..
~*~Epilogue~*~
A loud piercing ring echoed down the halls of McKinley High and all of the students started filing out of their rooms.
"Kurt, wait up!"
The young prince, dressed in his favourite skinny jeans and polo shirt, looked up to find Finn running up behind him.
"So, Your Highness, how are you finding human school now that your memories are back?"
"Same old Mr Schue and boring teachers. Finding it hard not to speed up time with my magic."
Finn laughed. "Well isn't that the deal you made with your dad? You could continue your Earth studies with us if you don't use your magic?"
"Well didn't my father make the same deal with you? Don't cause trouble in the palace and you are all welcome back anytime?"
"Considering we are adopted brothers….I'm welcome anytime."
"Also soon to be brother-in-law," Kurt smirked as the pair continued to walk down the hall.
"It's been two months, Kurt," Finn replied. "Two months since you found your home and since my mother started dating your dad - a witch king no less."
"Stranger things have happened than a quick proposal."
"Don't meddle," Finn laughed. "So…..who's on duty today?"
Kurt and Finn stopped by the main school doors and gave a smirk to his brother.
"Who do you think?" Kurt asked.
The two pushed open the doors to find Blaine leaning up against the stair railings, dressed in dark blue skinny jeans, a pink polo shirt with a striped bow tie and ray ban sunglasses. Finn laughed at the sight of the wolf.
"Way to blend in, Anderson," Finn laughed.
Using his speed, Blaine went up into Finn's face and gave a fake death glare.
"Yeah? Well none of you even noticed my skulking around all day, did you?" Blaine smirked.
"Blaine, enough of this skulking. Why can't you all enrol in high school too?" Kurt whined.
"Because, Sire," Blaine teased. "Unlike yourself, I am not 17. I also have to train the new wolf and vampire recruits back home. You get one wolf watching over you every day at school, you just don't see us."
"Being 19 and still in high school would probably look bad, Kurt," Finn agreed.
Kurt rolled his eyes.
"Very well. Come on, boys," Kurt began as he quickly scanned the area for any humans before he waved his hand and a portal appeared in front of them. "Let's go home."
With that, the trio walked inside the portal, the circle closing behind them. Soon, when Kurt takes the throne, he would rejoin the two realms together so that they could once again live in peace, but until then, he didn't want to leave either life behind. He had two lives' worth of memories back and he was going to keep living each one.
He gained more family then he ever thought he could. He had a great boyfriend, when he's off the clock of course, a great adopted brother, double the amount of friends, his father back and an adopted mother. Yes, you can never know what is truly out there in life. You will never be truly alone in it either as there will always be someone looking for you out there. Sometimes you just have to wait to find them….
