Chapter 14: Finally home
"Hope is the only thing stronger than fear"
The first person I saw when I was getting off of the train was Haymitch. He held a smug smile as I ran over to him and embraced him in a hug. We stayed there for a while until he opened his big mouth and ruined the moment. "Johanna called and told me everything. I'm here to make sure you don't chicken out."
I couldn't help but laugh as I pulled away. "Do you know where they are?" I asked softly. Haymitch nodded and pointed to the small building which the train tickets were sold at. I rushed into the building and threw the door open.
"Mommy!" Jacey called as she slipped from her seat on the old brown couch. "You came! I knew you would!"
I lifted her up to sit on my hip as I stroked her hair softly. "Of course I would be here." As Jacey snuggled into my neck I looked over at Peeta who was smiling widely. I mouthed 'we need to talk.' Before going back to my conversation with my daughter.
That evening Peeta made us dinner, then after we watched a movie until Jacey fell asleep across both of our laps. Peeta smiled as he saw Jacey "let me put her to bed."
When he came back he sat on the couch next to me and turned to face me. "So what did you need to talk about?"
I sighed as I moved to look at him. "You remember from a little while ago… When we you know?" Peeta nodded. "Well… I'm pregnant…"
