This is the best fanfic I've ever read

Very lovely. You've captured how awful war is (nothing romantic about it) and how it can scar even those who survive it. Sebastian's lonely journey of coping with his PTSD makes us yearn for him to heal, to know love again, and the end of the chapter, where Blaine's patience pays off and he takes a risk in pushing his husband's limits is beautiful. Sebastian will never be without some of his scars (nor will Blaine) but they have decided that they will face them together, be strong for each other. Beautiful.

I like the honesty of how Blaine eventually admitted that, at least emotionally, Sam was a distraction while Sebastian was away. And how he knows he's only human, so eventually sends him away.

The letters were a great part of the storytelling. Blaine decides to keep communicating, first with Sebastian when he's at war, and eventually when he's home (but not all there yet). A sweet detail, full of romance yet still believable (does it help that I'll be married 30 years this June, and that we corresponded every day back when we were dating? Probably). Brava!

I wish this wasn't over. It was very well written. I'll definitely be coming back to reread it.

Thank you for an absolutely gorgeous story. There's so much here - weakness and strength, pain and love, all described so beautifully. I read your third chapter twice, and feel I need to read it again. I love happy Seblaine endings, and yours, being so hard-fought and well-earned, glows.

It's not fair that you are such a great writer. Seriously, this is an amazing story.

So so sad, that just when they're finally working things out, Sebastian has to leave. Certainly, they had no easy journey to get there. Well done, and by the time the ice starts to thaw the reader is so squarely rooting for them to find each other.
Learning why Blaine is so broken is so sad (as i expected it would be). Rachel really is a perfect sister for him, after all. I am glad that he has Marley in this 'verse, and she is like a sister to him, which is sweet. Adam's role was good here; sympathetic, though of course we wanted Sebastian with Blaine.
