This needs work.

Not sure what to make of this. Very short, and it reads like a summary. For instance, we're told that Batman learns that the Joker was found dead, but we're not shown it. Show, don't tell, as the saying goes.

Also some punctuation is off. At the end, there's no full stop after "Freeze." And with the line beginning "...from what they had gathered..." "from" should be capitalized, as it's starting a new sentence.

An interesting start, the Bat seems a little off on his characterization but it's not too far away that I wouldn't be able to stand reading him.

I get it. You take issue with DC's rigid no-kill rules. And Skitter is all of the awesome. But seriously. Don't slaughter Batman's characterization by turning him into a strawman.
Also, WHY WOULD YOU HAVE THE SKITTER VS JOKER FIGHT OFF-SCREEN?
