Huh. Thanks...?

I really like stories about characters who don't get as much love or attention as the main ones, and Petunia's high on my list. It was really good to see Harry care enough about Petunia (as cruel as she had been to him) to try to get help for her.

Lupin's been on the receiving end of a lot of wizard-world cruelty, too, so it's fitting that he come to Lily's aid.

The scene where Petunia admits what's going on to Dudley worked for me, too. Really cool how much love and understanding there is for Petunia here, despite her past. Not love in terms of good feelings necessarily, or thinking that she's great and all, but rather everyone being willing to come to her aid. Especially Lupin.

Less of monster than the man she married. No truer words were ever spoken. I loved how Harry sent word for help. And the Rembrandt comment was funny. Still, Remus should be honored. Rembrandt is a fine artist. He of all people should appreciate that. And is Harry gonna start calling Remus step-Mooney?

This was sweet, though very sad. I don't like the idea that Vernon hurt Petunia, though I'll admit you wrote it well.

My favorite part was the last section, where Petunia seems to warm up a little bit to the magical world. I liked how you mentioned her jealousy, because I always felt that was something that should have been discussed more in the actual series. I can imagine I would be horribly jealous if my sister was blessed with magic and I wasn't.

I felt like some sentences were slightly stiff and awkward, but the story has potential. Nicely done!

...WHOA. O.O! I absolutely did NOT expect that particular ending. Petunia and Remus...? As long as no one ends up with Vernon, I'd ship it. XD

Well, while I really love Remus/Petunia, this seems to be a bit confusing. Remus addresses Petunia with a familiarity she doesn't correspond at first, but a few lines later she's on Remus' arms? I also think Dudley gave in rather easily, not at all like he really is (on the other side, he really loves Petunia and understands what is right).

Besides that, the story is lovely. Harry really cares for Petunia and he would do anything to protect her, and even Petunia knows she won't be safe with an abusive husband.

The last line makes a really good impression. It's blunt and a bit harsh, but I think it's wonderful. Of all this story, it's my favorite part.

To be honest I barely even noted the tense change, but then I'm like that.

There weren't any spelling mistakes but there were some awkwardly written sentences. Sadly, I can't copy and paste to show you, but the first two sentences of the fourth section come to mind.

I'm also a bit confused at how quickly Dudley went from yelling at Harry to looking to him for guidance, if you will.

Another thing that confused me is how Lupin knew Petunia well enough (I presume, anyway) to call her, 'Pet', yet she addresses him as, 'one of them. One of James Potter's friends'. That could use some clarification.

A good portrait of abuse, and a wife that is trying to retain normalcy for her son. That also explains the Dursley's deep need for 'normalcy' regarding Harry as well. I liked Harry's compassion for his aunt, as well as Dudley's instant acceptance of his mother's words. His support of his mother once Harry's accusations were confirmed was fantastic. I did notice the tense switch, but it was with some relief, as I'm really not fond of reading present tense. Lupin was a good choice as her saviour, and I especially liked the last line of this fic - as well as the resurgence of Petunia's jealousy.

I love it, I could totally see petunia and Remus together, good job :3
