Everyone is planning to duke it out, kick some butt but Chase is still being a contemplative creep and staring Jack down. People are picking up on it and Wuya is like?! Helloooo? We doin this or what?” And then dude’s main cat walks up to Jack and just kinda leads him away while Chase beats them all right out of his house.

It will be beautiful. Magical. And then he asks the question we’ve all been waiting for.

“So you ready for round six or what?”

how could you end it like this?

this is so Time Traveller's Wife-y, but I'm here for it. Look at these two, bonding over shared backstory trauma. This is - this is good. I like that they have so much in common, that rarely gets brought up in fic. This, honestly, is just - it's great backstory and a great way to have Chase Young's origin story.

my GOD is Jack relatable here. I freely admit that Youths are hard as hell to talk to, and frustrating AF. So jack's frustration here is really on point. You want to smack them but you just can't.

More of Jack being a terrible agent of Evil - but a really good...friend? Are they friends at this point?

Chenglei is really great as well, in a very realistic tweenage way. So that's pretty great too. :)

I find it super interesting that Jack is just. So Terrible at being a villian. Like he has a moral code, he has *lines* he won't cross. He says that he's a spoiled kid with delusions of grandeur and Super Heyin, but he's against the coercion the Designated Good Guys are all for, and he doesn't actually want to hurt Chase, despite the fact that after 8 years of Cold Shoulder, he might feel entitled to a little revenge. It's just a great bit of characterization.

Also, Jack trying to reason out the timejumping is good. Very organic. Good worldbuilding, that.

aw, jack. Making the best of a bad situation and finding dinner in his coat. That seems about right :p

I love the mental image of a tiny stoic toddler, and also just - Jack amazing the locals with Modern Technology without anything terrible happening. What a refreshing change.

As always, your Jack-voice is spot on, and I had to laugh at the "So he's roughing it. Awesome" aside.

I do like your pacing here, that chapters are a moderate, but they read very quickly. well done

So I know this hasn't been updated in years, but i wanted to let you know that I really like it - I've been coming back and re-reading this every so often since you stopped updating. And it's been even longer since I actually sat down and watched the show, so that should tell you something!

I really like the tone of this and Jack's voice. I like how you poke at the hypocrisy of the Monks, and the ethics of manipulating someone for the Greater Good. It's just a really interesting slant. and that cliffhanger! Gets me every time. Thanks for posting. C:

I just reread this whole story and omg I love it as much now as when I first found it! You've done such a great job at staying true to their characters while also showing different facets not revealed before. Pleasese, PLEASE don't abandon this, there's still so much left unknown! Like, how long before Jack is back in his own time? If Chase was so crazy about Jack, then why did he treat younger-Jack like shit when they first meet later? Has the future been altered, or is it exactly as it was meant to be? AND WHAT OTHER NAUGHTY THINGS WILL CHASE DO TO JACK?! I need knoooowwww, please update soon!
