Ah, be still my heart! The love that Cas and Sam were finally able to share should transcend all other loves. It was very fitting that they be able to share the Gerber's suite at the lodge. Things that were started there, were now able to be finished. I love this series of stories so much because the progression of Sam's feelings for Cas, from friendship to love, were so slow to develop. They weren't rushed, they weren't taken advantage of, they didn't grow haphazardly. I loved watching Cas realize what a pure soul Sam has, how much he cares about others, and what Sam could mean to him. What a great story! I am happy to hear that there will be other stories written about the two of them, for I would be sad if this were truly goodbye. Happy New Year! :D
