Wow, I really love this story, is awesome, the characters are IN character, the plot is amazing... wow, pretty wow!

Sigh. I adore this story. The ending just kills me (and it's almost prescient of what's going on in season 7).

As I read through this story, I just wanted to stop at this point to say a few things. First, this is really well written and riveting. Second, this is the story that has finally clued me in on one of the things that I think separates the superb Buffy fic from the mundane. That thing is attention to detail in presentation of teh characters, and more times than not Anya is the best character to look at. Too many writers present her as a cardboard cut-out greedy, bitchy, whiny also-ran in the Sunnydale crowd. You've avoided this and instead presented her true to character in her dialogue (the whole bit about the doctors shouldn't say there's still hope if there isn't) and reactions (being mad that they were in 'her' store in the first place). The fact that you've paid that much attention to a secondary character really goes a long way in developing the entire story. Great job.

Oooh. Is the woman the second Slayer that Spike killed, the one in New York? This has been a great story. Thanks for posting your Geocities URL, because wouldn't show me chapters 19 and 20, and some pretty essential stuff happened in there. I'm glad Xander realized that the right thing to do was to help Spike.

I doubt if they'll take the show there, but I'd love to see Buffy for any reason cut loose and go bad. That's ok, you wrote it better than they could ever show it.
