There are so many fics that focus on the time right after the last chapter, but before the epilogue and I kept finding myself looking for ones that went beyond that; to see them in the act of being parents with one another. I think your posturing of the Mellarks 20 years later is exactly how I imagined them as well. I loved that this is centered around such a simple concept like the holidays. Especially to see the wonderment of it all through their child's eyes allows them to move on and heal from their grief. Aside from the story I thoroughly enjoyed the rich lyricalness of your writing. Wonderful job I look forward to reading your other works as well. |

Every time I read a post-epilogue story I can't help but feel the names writers give to children seem off even if they are nice names.
