What a beautiful bittersweet way to end! And having Kaci tell the trio she loves them and loves her father! BAH! Too many feels.

Really great job here, theres something wonderful about the determined, cute, strong and awesome daddy's girl that made that ending very effecting to read.

Well! I'm a little puzzled by this change in direction of the story. I've been enjoying it so far, especially how Kaci and Aerith became friends, and even how Genesis is softening up to her. I also like that we get to see more of Rufus as a father here, because that is important. However, Kaci herself seems like a totally different character. She is a SOLDIER, she should be working as much as her father, but here she's just a normal, sad girl, wasting away her time. Plus, she cooks. And sings. And plays the piano. And is apparently wearing girly jewelry . . . It just seems like too much to me. But, really, that's only my opinion! I'll keep reading and see how all of this impacts the rest of the story.

I'm surprised at how short this chapter is after the last one! But I do understand the need for transition. :3

I'm happy Kaci has met Aerith. It always makes me happy when people get to know Aerith, lol. I can see here how conflicted Kaci truly is, though. I feel so bad for her! :c

Kaci is an interesting person. I can see that she's on a razor's edge, wanting something that is in direct conflict with what she doesn't want. 1st class SOLDIER, but that means having to quell riots that she doesn't believe are wrong. Knowing her father is a tyrant, but unable to speak badly of him. I can understand her feelings quite well.

I think it's funny that she and Genesis don't get along.

There was only one part of this chapter that bothered me. When she tells us of Rufus's voice, how it could make any woman swoon but doesn't work on her because she's too used to it . . . As his daughter, she should NOT make this observation. Her father making women swoon should never cross her mind, and then to put herself next to that category - it's creepy and gross and weird, in my opinion. I think the story would do fine if that line was left out. :3 Just a suggestion, though!

In all, Kaci has grabbed my attention, and I wonder what choices she will make in the future! :3
