this is just the best! and all the banter is adorable! and hilarious! and i totally love socialbutterfly!kono and how much steve realizes how lucky he is to have her!

haha this chapter is amazing! i really enjoyed the emphasis on kono's competence and general humour regarding the situation, in contrast to steve's reaction. he obviously doesn't want to get all neanderthal on her, and kono would never stand for that anyway. yet, he still finds a way to avenge her without her knowledge, which i think is a much more steve thing to do - to do right without looking for credit. i have a general pet peeve about possessiveness in men (which i think is a puerile indication of romance in fanfiction), and i sincerely doubt steve would feel insecure about kono's abilities so i think the fact that you didn't write that trope into the story here is an indication of a very sophisticated grasp on the characters!

ah! pity there aren't more mckono stories out there - you perfectly nailed the characters in an au setting! so cute! and really good insight into kono and chin's familial relations, too! also, the mckono moments are truly adorable!

Hahahaha...seriously, that conversation between Steve and Chin actually had me laughing OUT LOUD! I could just picture their facial expressions throughout. Steve's utter cluelessness about the issue is what makes it even funnier, getting Chin to the verge of LITERALLY spelling it out for him.
Then witnessing him trying to talk to to Kono about it was fantastically awkward, but equally as amusing! She basically took the words out of my mouth, "oh God, stop talking!". Once again, their cuteness was undeniable.

Perfect! Absolutely perfect. This was so romantic and beautiful but also fun and simply lovely. Your best yet! I really appreciated the reference to that episode with Mary's abduction. It was my favorite episode, back then when the show was good and the relationship made sense. I loved it and I tnank you from the bottom of my heart for the great joy you provided us there.

Wow, how cute was this?! Been looking forward to this proposal scenario for a while now and it was so, so beautiful. It was heartbreaking to hear him discuss his feelings of guilt and sadness at what had happened to Mary and his parents and from the way Kono comforted him, it was obvious just how much she meant to him and how much he valued her being there for him (the brief reference to Wo Fat practically sent shivers down my spine - "They don't need to say his name, she won't dare utter it out loud in their bedroom and taint the air...").

I really, really loved how simple and "Steve-like" the actual proposal was...I swear, I was almost "awwwwing" out loud! We all know he's not normally one for grand romantic gestures, so I wasn't entirely surprised he did it in the privacy of their home, with no one else around. It was SO cute, him trying to explain why Kono should say yes...with her quickly butting in and saying "yes". I can imagine it was a moment she'd probably been dreaming of for a while, so she clearly had no problem accepting the proposal. By this point, I'm actually tearing up! These two are just...unbelievably cute.

You know what this means now though, right? I'm going to look forward to/expect a "wedding" story, so please don't leave us hanging! )

Thank you so much, quisinart4, for this whole collection...they're some of the best McKono fics I've read anywhere. I have read every single one, but unfortunately real life has prevented me from finding the time to sit and review them all, but I plan to do so, hopefully in the next week or so.

I really hope you continue to post your work here, as I just love them...whether they're one-shots, or longer stories (after "I won't call you my weakness...", I think you mentioned something before about having another longer story that you hadn't posted yet?).

Oh thank GOD someone's still writing for this pairing! What happened? It was like it dried up overnight, and I'd think especially with Kath finally gone (thank goodness, like the actress, hated the character) that this pairing would be going strong again! Hope you'll keep going, thanks so much for this fun read ... :)

That was so utterly adorable... sigh! So romantic in a Steve and Kono way.
Loved that it was so emotional for the both of them considering that Steve an be emotionless.

I've read all these chapters and have really enjoyed them. I like the way you write about the characters and their personal stories, and not about a case that they're working. The stories are all really sweet, and they help to make me feel better after having a bad day.
