I really like this story, interesting spin on what could have been. Writers block sucks doesn't it? It happens to the best of us. Now a suggestion, what if say Ozai decided to come for a "visit"? What if he decides to say pit Zuko versus Zuko in an Agni Kai? Just a suggestion. AF OUT!

hmm, you know, you could add some stuff showing Azula's unorthodox and sarcastic, yet somewhat endearing side - like it's done in "Sticky" by electric gurrl or in the later episode of "Measure each step to infinity!

I indulge on Jetzula, Azulaang, and (especially) Sokkla myself, but speaking as literally the sole author of a full-fledged Chanzula fic before yours came along, you're right. Chan is the only man known to have broken through Azula's defenses, and lived to tell the tale (even if his beach house ended up with a different fate). There was an instant attraction, and the only reason Azula retaliated so boldly was because he denied her. Azula is known for her destructive mannerisms when solving problems, so having Zuko, Mai, and Ty Lee ransack his house was the natural way for her to retaliate. It doesn't mean at all that the spark she felt for him died at his denial, which is what most people sadly think...

I liked this chapter! You know, it's funny that my planned next installment of my 'Welcome To Parenthood' series is Azula and Chan taking a two-year-old Raiden to Ember Island to build the sandy version of "Uncle Zuzu's palace!" Irony, right? I'm about three-quarters of the way done with it, though, and knowing me, it will take me months to get it finished!

I'm looking forward to seeing what Chan's path in this story is, what his ill absence means and all, and how Zuko will react to seeing him. It's really good that there is another author who thinks as I do about Chan, despite the negativity that swirls about him.

A very poignant chapter in Azula's maternal development, this chapter is! I like how you not only snuck Ozai in but Ursa as well, someone who is as much absent a parental influence as Ozai. You made the point yourself: Azula did absolutely everything for her son, from birthing him, to showering him with love. I'm surprised at the way you presented Ursa as a hallucination. You kept Azula on the verge of madness, even after the Fire Nation's victory, even after being redeemed in motherhood. An excellent touch! I'm wondering now if she will have to hide or reveal this insanity to her son in his future now that he is all right...

I just had to favorite and watch this! I, too, have explored the motherly side of Azula in my writing: a woman who still has her abrasiveness in tow but is capable of an undying love for a small child of her own.

You have a really good oneshot pile working along here, and in each one you see the remarkable improvements Azula is making in the trials of motherhood. From at first finding her little one revolting, to the point now where she would sacrifice her every ounce of energy to sustain his life. Wonderful work here on a subject many in the Avatar fan community still find taboo.

As a writer who has given Azula a son in her own work, I love this collection! Please keep them coming any time you can!

The speech azula gave was very good I love how she tries to order zuko to get better! and im also glad the dark lord himself is about to make an appearance he always makes family dynamics so...interesting

Touching chapter, Azula trying her best to be loving while still being socially awkward is a nice touch, her speech fit very nicely with her character.

Her son being sick is a good twist and I like the reference to the father and wonder how he fits into Azula's life. I also look forward to seeing how Ozai reacts in the next chapter.
