Now this is interesting :) I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised, I never expected to be intrigued so much :), the idea itself is also original, Legolas as police officer sounds fascinating. He certainly has enough of a qualities to make him a great cop hehe. In any case the quality of Twilight aside ;) the lore itself would be interesting to explore, I am what we can call a Tolkien fan, I love all his works and naturally Lotr is among my favorite literary works of all time. One immediately thinks of the fun comparisons that can be made, the Twilight vampires and vampires of Arda, the ones mentioned in the Silmarillion:

"He turned aside therefore at Sauron's isle, as they ran northward again, and he took thence the ghastly wolf-hame of Draugluin, and the bat-fell of Thuringwethil. She was the messenger of Sauron, and was wont to fly in vampire's form to Angband; and her great fingered wings were barbed at each joint's end with and iron claw. Clad in these dreadful garments Huan and Lúthien ran through Taur-nu-Fuin, and all things fled before them."
...
"Then Sauron yielded himself, and Lúthien took the mastery of the isle and all that was there; and Huan released him. And immediately he took the form of a vampire, great as a dark cloud across the moon, and he fled, dripping blood from his throat upon the trees, and came to Tar-nu-Fuin, and dwelt there, filling it with horror."

"Beren became in all things like a werewolf to look upon, save that in his eyes there shone a spirit grim indeed but clean; and horror was in his glance as he saw upon his flank a bat-like creature clinging with creased wings. Heheh, so the vampires of Middle-earth if there is a whole kind of them, in a awy a bit similar to the Ungoliant's brood, she gave rise to the sapient intelligent giant spiders but she was something more of a demon so similarly Thuringwethil could have gave rise to the whole kind of bat-like creatures-vampires. possibly the huge blood sucking bats from the Hobbit, that were seen during Battle of Five Armies would be like lesser descendants or broods or maybe something else but related?

"‘Soon actual darkness was coming into a stormy sky; while still the great bats swirled about the heads and ears of elves and men, or fastened vampire-like on the stricken.’"

Now that is amusing to think about :). The Quileutes of Twilight changing into wolves would also be more like Beorn and his kind, the skin-changers (Beorn shapeshifted into a bear he had other powers and his descendants retained the gift) rather than Wargs and Werewolves of Arda :). Sauron was Lord of Werewolves:

"Not all his servants and chattels are wraiths! There are orcs and trolls, there are wargs and werewolves; and there have been and still are many Men, warriors and kings, that walk alive under the Sun, and are yet under his sway."

"At length Morgoth set a price upon his head [Beren's] no less than the price upon the head of Fingon, High King of the Noldor; but the Orcs fled rather at the rumour of his approach than sought him out. Therefore an army was sent against him under the command of Sauron; and Sauron brought werewolves, fell beasts inhabited by dreadful spirits that he had imprisoned in their bodies." All in all pretty interesting to explore hehe. Besides Elves meeting Twilight vamps...sounds amusing :).
