| Mauraslover chapter 15 . 5/2 Sean Cavanaugh doesnt have the authority to take away any leave that Maura is on because she does not work for him or Boston Police Department. She is employed by the Governor of the state and that is her only boss. I've seen this a lot in fanfiction stories and I think the confusion comes from the fact that in the tv show she works in the same building as Jane and so people assume that she also works for the Police Department but this is wrong and in fact the office of the chief medical examiner and Boston Police Department Homicide Unit irl are in fact two different buildings several streets apart. I've checked this on googlemaps and several other sources. Its just one of the continuity things that this otherwise great show has got wrong but I guess they've done this in order to create the personal relationship between the ladies but the way their working relationship is portrayed in the tv show is in fact wrong. |
