That first sentence was wonderful and really caught my attention. That was a perfect way to open up the story!

A donkey on heroin? Holy crap; I laughed wayyyy too hard at that.
I'd honestly expected Armin to check up on her, too. It was a bit unexpected that Jean did it instead, and I like being surprised! :D ...though I'm not a very big fan of Jean...
God, I do feel like crying, though. You've written this so well that I can really see Mikasa in such a situation...and it's a very heartbreaking mental image, really. D:

And maaaan, Jean. Even though he may have had a point, if someone had said that to me (had been so blunt about my losing a loved one), I would've punched them in the freaking face...
I do love how things progressed, though. That she asked him if he loved her, and that he answered honestly...ah! Perfect! And I love her response to his question, and just how they handled it so wonderfully and realistically!

Definitely a favorite of mine!
