This is an amazing story. However I do not like where you just went with this. You do not have to diminish one character to make another appear strong. Destroying shepard and having her sit this one out just so liara can "come into her own" feels lazy to me. Especially because in me2/redemption liars does plenty of badass things and comes into her own without shepard anyways. Overall excellent story and wonderful character driven writing. You capture the essence of the crew wonderfully. Just one small complaint in an otherwise amazing story. Also you should come back and finish me3 :) lol.

I've just found your stories and am oh so glad that I did. I love this re-telling from Liara's point of view, it adds another dimension to the game's storyline. Your Liara is perfect, her language and cadence in keeping with what we know of Asari; so often people have her speaking as a human. The mystery of the connection with Sen is delicious. And, being Irish, I love that Shep uses Gaelic as a term of endearment. Thanks for this; I can't wait to read more!

A moving thought to have someone see the depths of your mind. What we hide and understand and care enough to speak to it. Nice brings lots of emotion.

I have spent the past week or so ravaging your list for your tales. From Dragon Age to Mass Effect, I have read with a voracious appetite for more. I have neglected reviewing everything I have read, and in that I am sorry. In my defense, it is only because I hunger for more and cannot pause in my pursuit.

But I could not read this tale and not say SOMETHING to affirm my belief that you are possibly the most effective writer on this site for pulling my heart strings. A few days ago, reading your tale of Salem and Leliana had me sobbing, gut wrenching, ugly sounds of deep sorrow when Salem left Leliana to die... Again.

My emotional tie to Mass Effect is so much stronger, and I dread, with a beautiful twist, that moment that all Mass Effect fans hate. I am going to implode when I read Shepard's final departure from Liara's eyes.

Okay I'm late to the party, and while I love this fic there's some very minor details pulling me out of the action. Like the ammo comment, especially since in Mass Effect 1 there's no ammo. The weapons run off a cooling design, they overheat and then cool down. And even in the other two games it's thermal clips not ammo. Also the Krogan biotic for Feros, and everyone's like "shit a Krogan biotic?" Um, Wrex is a biotic. It's what I was thinking in the entire exchange of needing a biotic for Feros in the first place. Wrex is a Krogan Vanguard, he is biotic. Just small things are pulling me out of an otherwise excellent fic.

The fanfic starts really well, but after a few chapters, it's clear that those aren't the characters of the game, they only have their names. When I read your fanfic, I can't see in my mind the characters of the game, even being Mass Effect a game that gives so big freedom to every gamer to imagine their own Shepard. Regarding Liara, Alenko, Chakwas, etc... I simply can't see them in your story. Thats not necessary a fault. I don't like and I have stopped reading when it starts that thing of ensing Avi Rodriguez or whatever because I'm not interested in this twist of the story at all, but I wonder, since it's clear you have great skills in writing and are able to create original characters, why don't you use your own original characters? Probably, could be more rewarding for you to write a brand new story with your own characters, even into the Mass Effect universe.

All I have to say about this story is that I read it all in three days. Absolutely awesome story, looking forward to other stories you stir up.

I'm absolutely enthralled with this story. Still making my way through it but I have a few questions, I suppose.
Is there a reason you gave your Shepard no tech or biotic powers? Even the "Soldier" class would have Adrenaline Rush and Concussive Shot at their disposal, not to mention the different ammo types.
In the chapter where the audience is made aware of what Liara's metal bracelet means, and that the other crew members have some form of the same thing, does this mean your Shepard died at the final scene? I know you haven't written Liara's account into ME3 (yet?) but since she's wearing a bracelet that says Shepard's name, rank, birth, and death dates, and that the rest of her crew have/had some form of the same, am I safe in assuming your Shepard did not take that shallow breath at the end of the cutscenes in the game? I find this sad to think about. Curious to see what you think.
Continuing on... I can't wait to delve into the sequel to this story. This is one of the best fShep/Liara stories I've ever read. Great, great job!

I like the fact that commander Shepard asked her before simply taking her along for the mission. I felt the game did a bad job of easing some of the characters into full-combat situations despite very little real training

I want to see what the conflict between Liara and Tevos is! What did Tevos lose? D: And because Liara is the one who made the hack, did she purposefully do it and make it track-able and falsified to damage Sen's career? (Nooo! Please tell me Sen and Mira get back together! T_T) How is Liara's visit to Thessia Medical some perverse twist of fate?! Gah, so many questions! I must continue reading! -rushes to the next arc- I hope at least some answers are given!

Also, the characterizations are spot on! I love how much screen time Chakwas was given, she's always been a favorite of mine, but I noticed a distinct lack of Tali. If I recall correctly, she wasn't taken on any of the missions.

Can't wait to see the next part, so I'm gonna start reading now! Just wanted to review this fantastic story because it absolutely deserves it!
