I enjoyed reading this. For the sake of clarity, I would recommend italicizing Neville's thought during his conversation with Snape so it doesn't read like he voiced it aloud.

It was good. It should have been two detentions though not two detention. Other than that I didn't notice any mistakes.

Cute! I like Snape trying to defend Neville for once, but why did he call Neville dense? Was he trying to get Neville to ditch the class before he made the note?
