concettaa60 chapter 9 . 6/28
I loved this chapter...very exciting to see some action with the cavalry. You must keep writing this story...it is a wonderful story.

I do not think there is any canon regarding Haldir's parents. But dying when they were young is a common scenario for Haldir's parent. It seems to work well.

Please update soon.

Ponytail Goddess chapter 9 . 6/9
Oh my goodness, I am in love with your story! In fact, I daresay it is one of my favorite Haldir fics now. Your writing style is very impressive and strong. I think what really stands out to me in this fanfic is that you’ve given Haldir more of a job than just guarding the borders. I like seeing this other side of him that’s planning things, taking inventories, dealing with accounts, and working with other elves to better Lórien. I’ve painted a really wonderful picture of him with your words and I am very impressed by it.

The romance between Haldir and Nerthriel is proceeding at a nice pace and seems very real and heated. Your version of Haldir does not seem capable of loving half heartedly. I like how it’s deeply passionate and also desperate for physical love. For example, I love how he daydreams about her in that red velvet dress and how he nearly loses control when she lays on him will stargazing. It’s very primal, yet you can tell he cares about her, seeing as he keeps walking her home.

The questions lingering in my mind are as follows: How do I lose all control of himself if she wants that red velvet dress again? Well that be some sort of consequence for them pursuing a relationship together? Is Nerthriel mature enough to have a lasting relationship with Haldir?

While I certainly cannot criticize you for not updating frequently because of my own tendencies (I just came off a 10 year writing hiatus), I certainly hope you choose to do so. I like the story so much that I’ve read it twice in the last four days and would love to see what happens next. If you find yourself bored with the plot you were originally planning, you can always reimagine the story to fuel your interest. Writing is hard at times, but you are very talented at it and the thought you have put into this fic is evident. Congrats on your story-I hope to read more soon!

JadedLaw chapter 9 . 4/12
You say that you think the story hasn't moved along, but to me it has been paced perfectly. Even with a few year gap in the middle the quality of writing has been up upheld. I'm very intrigued as to where this story is going. I hope you stay safe in these strange times and find great inspiration within yourself to write further.
All the Best
Dee chapter 1 . 2/17
There's a lot of familiar names from The Silmarillion in this story. Fëanáro, Eöl, Arédhel, Círdan, Rochallor.
Fëanáro was the creator of the Silmarils. When Morgoth killed his father and stole the Silmarils he instigated the rebellion to try and get them back. He swore an oath and made his 7 sons swear with him to get them back at all cost even if it meant killing elves and men.

Eöl was the Lord of Nan Elmoth. He was related to Thingol of Doriath. He married Arédhel daughter of Fingolfin and had a son with her. In the Silmarillion it doesn't indicate whether she was willing or not. He was killed in Gondolin after Arédhel died from a poisoned spear that was aimed at their son.

Arédhel daughter of Fingolfin, sister of Turgon king of Gondolin, wife of Eöl and mother of Maeglin.

Círdan already listed in both The Silmarillion and in The Lord of the Rings as the Shipwright who built elven boats to carry the elves who wished to sail West to Aman. (So why was this name used? )

Rochallor was Fingolfin's horse.
earthdragon chapter 2 . 1/6
Actually, the plural of elleth is ellyth. Good story so far, although I am finding Nerthriel a bit difficult to warm to. Still, at least she isn't a Mary Sue.

daughterofthechief chapter 8 . 8/30/2019
Haldir makes me so mad! Nerthriel honestly shouldn't let him seduce his way into forgiveness when her was 'emotionally cheating' on her...He better work hard on getting her forgiveness and realising how self righteous he is and how he was in the wrong. I was so pleased when I saw you had updated, and thank you for taking the time to reply to my review. Again, your writing is excellent- the dialogue is so fluid and natural, the plot is so gripping and just your style is so good in general, a wonderful blend of both the whimsical and the punchy (I don't know if that makes sense lol, but that is how I read it). Thank you again for updating, your reviews never fail to surpass my expectations and this was no different. Thank you again, and looking forward to next time x
