darkhunter97 chapter 18 . 8/11 I know it been over 5 years since the last update. But I really love this story. Hopefully. You’ll be able to come back to it one day. |
stuovam chapter 4 . 6/28 I like your letter. But I can't understand how Snape could have revived Riddle. Tom killed Lily so Snape hates Tom. I also don't believe that he would want to become a slave between two masters again. And I don't know whether to continue reading because of the beautiful letter or stop reading because of the absurdity of what is happening. |
xxPrincessRedxx chapter 18 . 2/4/2019 AWESOME! I can’t wait for another chapter! |

Guest chapter 18 . 3/15/2018 Oh please tell me yo haven't given up on this! I stumbled across it quite unexpectedly and wow... my mind is utterly blown. So gripping and you're characterisation is utter perfection - dark, complex, witty and entirely enrapturing. Please do update this gem - it would be a true shame for it to remain unfinished. Especially now the action is just starting. When you do update, please don't forget some harry/tom bonding.. it feels as though they are a lot more closely related than first imagined (please please please let harry be his son!) |
frozcnhearts chapter 18 . 7/20/2017 I read this when I first joined FFnet and I've been looking for it ever since AND I FINALLY FOUND IT! Are you going to continue? |
threadedLifesource chapter 18 . 1/7/2017 Are you planning on continuing? Its been a bit more than a year since the last update and this fic is wonderful! |

Simply Liquid Moonlight chapter 18 . 11/5/2016 Oh I love all parts of this, please update soon! |
Guest chapter 6 . 10/24/2016 This is really good. But also maybe a little unrealistic, in terms of how Harry is acting. He's lived in an abusive situation all his life - but some of the things he does so far show a level of normalisation and integration into society that Harry shouldn't have. I'd say the most prominent example so far has been Harry and Draco 'getting into trouble'. This should not be at all acceptable to a child who's general meaning of trouble and punishment involves belts and beatings. There's little chance at all that Harry would ever want to try to incur an adult's wrath, and in the situation his self-serving survival instincts should be making him say no. It's just not plausible (and also, a trope that's a little overused anyways...) Just overall, Harry should be lacking fine communication skills (he may hear the Dursleys talk, but that's not something directed at him. He probably would only have the bare bones of manners and such - the things he could learn at school. He's also nine and wouldn't be using well parsed sentences regardless). I think maybe adjusting some of this, like his reactions to things and his speech and behaviour could make this flow better. I mean, does a heavily abused child truly turn around and trust the next set of adults without any sense of doubt or self-preservation at all? Probably not. Hopefully my comments are useful! I don't mean them at all in a negative manner, as I think your story is quite interesting and you clearly have nicely developed writing skills. However certain elements could use some support, and hopefully this helps! Thanks for the time and effort you put into writing, keep it up! |
DeiStarr chapter 18 . 9/3/2016 This is interesting and exciting, and I'm very eager to see what happens next. You raise so many questions, and it's keeping me in such suspense! I'm dying to see what the forgotten memories are (Tom and Sev were lovers, obviously), and what Harry looks like under the glamours (Is he actually a Potter? Is he Sev and Tom's child, given to Lily to protect because Sev was worried about Tom who'd gone mad? Etc.). What about the missing Sirius Black? Will Narcissa attempt to claim Harry as family since 1) his grandmother Dorea Potter nee' Black was a Black, and Narcissa is the closest available relative; 2) his godfather is the missing Sirius Black, who is her cousin, thus giving her another claim as next of kin; 3) Dumbledore doesn't actually have the legal right to be listed as Harry's guardian in the first place since HE appointed HIMSELF as Harry's guardian, NOT the Potters, nor could he be considered family since he was NOT given the position by the Potters - thus the Finn and Finch law does not apply to him in relation to Harry's guardianship; and 4) even if the Potters HAD appointed Dumbledore as Harry's magical guardian, he does NOT qualify to take over guardianship of Harry as his next available relative as per the F&F law, since he was NOT listed as someone to take over Harry's guardianship should his current guardians die/become incapacitated/be found unfit the way the F&F law requires - Dumbledore was listed as Harry's CURRENT magical guardian DURING the WHOLE time Harry was being abused, and thus he had the responsibility to check up on him and his living circumstances, as well as train him for his Lordship, both of which he failed to do - as well as using the Potter seat on the Wizengamot, and removing large sums of money from the Potter vault which were not spent on Harry or his care (and if any of it was sent to the Dursleys, it was nowhere near the full amount taken and he never checked to make sure it was spent on Harry, which it wasn't). They could actually use this to have Dumbledore brought up on criminal charges since this is clear, undeniable proof with plentiful evidence that he was complicit in Harry's abuse, at least by neglect; as well as embezzlement and abuse of his position as Harry's guardian by using Harry's political seat as a proxy without providing training to the Heir. If Dumbledore tries to claim that he did check on Harry and had no reason to suspect abuse, they can increase the charges to him being an accomplice to the abuse; they can prove that there was simply no possible way for him not to have known about it if he WAS checking on Harry by showing an official transcript of Harry's medical history report, penseive memories of Harry's injuries and scarring, penseive memories from Harry (if necessary), any medical records from the hospital or Harry's school, his attendance records from school showing how often he missed days due to being too injured to attend, records of how often the Dursleys were reported to Children's services and any case files that were mysteriously closed for no reason (evidence of bribery, memory tampering, or compulsion), photos of his cupboard (and the rest of the house for contrast, proof of the lack of any photos of Harry in the house, as well as proof that the Dursleys had FOUR bedrooms (Vernon & Petunia's, Dudley's, the guest room for when Marge stayed over, and Dudley's second bedroom used for storing all of his old or broken toys)), the Dursley's financial records, and a sworn statement from Harry that he never saw Dumbledore before Tom's gala - and that Dumbledore immediately proceeded to mind-rape him and provide a penseive memory of the event. He could also give a sworn statement to the effect that until after Tom and the Malfoys found him, he did not even know his parents' names, let alone that he was an heir or had anything at all to his name - he could even add that with the exception of school, the hospital, social workers, or Mrs. Figg, the only names he was ever called by were Boy and Freak. If Dumbledore tries to protest that he had no way of knowing about the abuse because he sent people to check on Harry rather than coming himself, they could still use that to point out that the law REQUIRES him to attend to his duties to his charge HIMSELF, as well as Severus' penseive memories of being asked to check on Harry and of doing so, along with a sworn statement that Dumbledore did not care about the abuse as long as Harry wasn't actually killed - perhaps even statements/testimony from Mrs. Figg that she reported the abuse repeatedly to both Dumbledore and the muggle authorities, and that Dumbledore always dismissed her pleas for someone to help Harry; to get him out of that hell-hole, and that the muggle authorities did the same; often either forgetting that she had made a complaint in the first place or demonstrating symptoms of memory tampering or compulsions to ignore the Dursleys. Therefore he was still criminally negligent. The evidence would be so overwhelming that it should be impossible for him to escape without being found guilty of at least one of the charges. Even if Dumbledore somehow managed to wiggle out from being sentenced, he would still wind up 1) losing guardianship, 2) have to pay back the money he took, and 3) put on probation as headmaster where his actions come under intense scrutiny, and his past is investigated regarding his actions and decisions about the children in his care. (Madam Pomfrey could supply a ton of folders showing abused or severely bullied children that Dumbledore ignored and prevented her from reporting. Penseive memories from Sev - and maybe Tom, if he could claim that he'd managed to get them from Voldemort before he became really insane - could help back her up.) Not to mention what the publicity would do to Dumbledore's reputation. (Though they'd gave to be very careful about what was released to the media - enough to make people really disgusted with Dumbledore without showcasing too many details that people would prefer to keep private.) Is there a copy of the Potter Will hidden away that they can locate (perhaps they go to search the ruined Potter house to find any mementoes of his parents they can give to Harry and stumble upon a hidden cache that shows itself and opens to Tom due to his blood connection to Lily), and what does it say? Did Lily ever learn of her relationship to Tom? Did he? What REALLY happened in Godric's Hollow on that Halloween, Oct. 31st, 1981? Were the Potter's truly on the side of the Light? Or were they Dark, and Tom was compelled to attack them? Why were they really in hiding, and from which side? Or was Tom just visiting them and Dumbledore showed up and orchestrated their murder? How much of Tom's actions during the first war were actually caused by Dumbledore? How did he do it? Will the group find any evidence? Did the Sorting Hat announce a different headmaster after Dippet's retirement before Dumbledore overruled it? Was it Tom? Why are Tom and Severus both able to use features of the castle meant to be limited to the headmaster position? (Is it because of whatever Sev did to fix Tom's soul? What DID he do, exactly; and why would it be dangerous for them to get romantically involved with each other because of it? Will Sev tell him the truth, including about the missing piece of his soul? How will Tom react? Is Harry still a horcrux? When and how will they find out, and how will Tom react?) Did Dumbledore somehow split Tom's soul the first time, and memory charm him and add a compulsion to do again until he had a seven-part soul? Or did he do it to Tom and memory charm him each tie until Tom went crazy? Will Harry realise that Draco might be feeling more than friendship for him? How will he react? There are two things I keep waiting for the group to remember that would make their tasks easier - first, that Gringotts is authorized to do blood liniage tests, so Tom and Harry should both get it done there before going to the potion recipe in Salazar's study to confirm/expand upon the results; second, that Lily Evans was listed as Tom's sister in Gringotts, making Harry his nephew and giving him the right to claim him as family. (Though you didn't explain how that was possible very clearly; it doesn't seem to make any sense - Tom is a generation older than Lily (he was born on Dec. 31st, 1926, and Lily was born ~before September 1st, 1960), and Merope Gaunt died giving birth to him at the orphanage. He killed his father and grandparents at 17 in canon, framing his uncle Morfin who was his only living relative, who then died in Azkaban just like his father Marvolo had before him. Since this is AU, I don't know whether or not your Tom killed them, or if he did but it followed a different time-frame/set of circumstances. The only logical way for Lily to be Tom's sister would be if Merope didn't die at the orphanage, and Tom had been taken from his mother and sent there for reasons and by persons unknown, and any attempts made by her to find or contact him were blocked. (Dumbledore is a prime candidate, possibly to end the Slytherin line or to make the heir of Slytherin meek and submissive and remove him preemptively as opposition - though it begs the question of how he could have known that Tom was powerful unlike his inbred relatives (perhaps he saw Tom's name in the Book of Names which listed those eligible for Hogwarts and it listed his parentage?).) If Lily was only his half sister, that could complicate things - if she was Tom Riddle Snr.'s daughter, it would be complicated to claim Harry since Tom only claimed the Gaunt Lordship. If she was Merope's daughter, it begs the question of what happened to Merope, how, and why if she didn't die at the orphanage after giving birth to Tom, and why she never claimed him (as well as who Lily's biological father was). If she was his full sister, then either Merope dosed a much olderTom Sn |
Femalefan chapter 3 . 8/19/2016 I like the premise but whenever a different character speaks, it should be on a new line. Also in the books it mentions that Malfoy Manor is in Wiltshire. |
