I enjoyed this story immensely. The end of Pt 1, when he decides on his gift, was so unexpected it literally brought me to tears. A sketch of Crookshanks would have been lovely, but this packed a huge emotional wallop. It was interesting when Hermione thought it unnecessary, but then, that made sense also. I adored her letter to him and laughed out loud at her "I looked it up" at the end of it. Like others, I could have read on and on at a continuation of this story, but please take that as a compliment as to how much I enjoyed it. I've been enjoying a lot of your fics over the past few days, rereading all of Chasing the Sun (3rd or 4th time?) and the gift fics that have resulted from them. I'm about to reread PTL (again, for the 3rd or 4th time) now. Seeing your note of this past month that you're still writing was wonderful. I remember when you first began posting in the SSHG community. I wish you very well for the coming year, writing and otherwise.

Lovely. A sequel would work really well. Or perhaps a series of one-shots? I really like the idea of Hermione and Severus having some fun at the expense of the rest of Hogwarts' staff, starting with Minerva. She defenitely deserves it after being so rotten to Severus on Christmas.

There is such a natural and easy-going camaraderie between Hermione and Severus in this story that is truly difficult to create and a absolute joy to read. I hope you give us more if it someday.

Eh, I can't see Snape allowing Minerva to invade his life to that extent. I can, however, see him telling her to shove it up her interfering ass, packing his shit, and leaving that very night. Fucking Minerva.

Why on earth would Snape be furious at people for believing in the face that he showed them? He was a spy, so people were SUPPOSED TO think that he was a Death Eater. They were SUPPOSED TO think that he'd killed Dumbledore out of malice. If they'd seen through the role he was playing, that would have meant that he was a bad spy and in danger of being found out and tortured to death by Voldemort.

Love the line "Severus would lie until his tongue dried up. :-)
