This is how these characters would have acted, and it's written so well. Kate shutting down, and Lanie smelling a rat. Lanie reading her the riot act should be good for some gooey goodness all by itself...

Just read this update now. And damn. Love it.

The ending was the best part as you had Kate give in to what she was feeling and letting Rick be able to realize his. That was why they kissed to close out the chapter.

So this is killing me because it's hot and sexy but also emotionally intense and ahghhhh, I can't even.

Castle's reaction to Kate telling him about her mom's murder was beautiful. I love how shocked Kate was when Castle told her that he didn't want whatever is between them to end.

I'm glad Rick called Kate out for ignoring him at the precinct and then sleeping with him and leaving. The man deserves to know where he stands.

How Rick reacts to Kate telling him about her mom will be make or break for them.
