lovelielove chapter 1 . 9/3/2014 I really likes this one. "Was it her psychic ability that made it so hard to shut everything out?" I had a similar thought when I watched the movie. It seems inevitable that there would be a point when her ability would be more hindrance than help in her particular profession. |
ThePsiFiles chapter 1 . 7/27/2014 (I am going through all the Dredd stories and reviewing them all, except my own - wish me luck!) I like this - it is a very simple thing ("focus on those you DID help, rather than the ones you DIDN'T" - it doesn't matter how many people dislike a thing, it matters how many like it; look for the positive etc.) - but it is presented in a well-written and engaging way. We see Anderson's emotions, and we see Dredd's control and personality. This is any enjoyable fic. I liked it. |
Rainweaver76 chapter 1 . 12/1/2013 You really do these characters justice. Being able to further flesh out strong characters without the excessive use of dialogue is greatly appreciated. |
marshmallowdeviant chapter 1 . 11/25/2013 Lovely bit of Anderson vulnerability here but her biliary to bounce back is here too. Dredd also gets her, which feels right as does his choice to make exceptions for her because he holds her in such high regard. Aw. :) Just great work!* high five* x |
fiesa chapter 1 . 11/22/2013 Another take on the one question, and a nice one, too. I've really come to like your portrait of Cassandra Anderson. What I also liked very much was the thing you used to start off the entire story - the six percent of all distress calls in Mega City One that can be answered by Judges on a daily basis. There is so much that is happening and so little she can do. Same is with our world. Then, the interaction between Senior Judge and Junior Judge. The way Anderson is tempted to use her powers on Dredd and how she always hesitates, taking his own mind and right to privacy into account, but when it comes to it she responds instinctively to protect herself against his anger. I like how she can read him so well - and that he can read her, too. Most of all, I liked the implications of Dredd's words. He really isn't the person to give pep talks with good results but it works out for them because they're... well, I guess because they're who they are :) The references to Peach Trees were well positioned and executed and while Dredd used Anderson's words against her, she turned around and used his feelings against him. Maybe it wasn't a nice thing to do but honesty is quite important to Dredd, I think. He should think of why he is even giving a damn about her. We know he does... *laugh* I was looking at the last sentence, wondering what other sentences you could have used. I like the one you chose. It fits very well. So, once again, a very nice and enjoyable one shot/drabble. Thank you very much for sharing it! :) |
