THIS! This is is such a wonderful character study, enticingly written and with darkness just at the edge; I love it to pieces. You are brilliant )

Oh, rip my heart out ,why don't you? You've sketched such a full horror of Tom's past in just a few words, as well as the really grim, oppressive horror that was New Caprica. Survivor guilt runs all through this. And of course his background would tell him not to show that hurting her would have any special effect on him. Your word choices are especially evocative here: "She was moving marble" is one that stood out as perfect for her in this setting. So good and achy.

This was a wonderful piece of Tom's POV. I love it. And it could have been straight out of the show. I could easily see it as part of those New Caprica episodes. Please write more like this one! I love Tom Zarek and I don't think he gets enough love.
