I enjoyed that episode, but, I can see how it was hard to incorporate Casey and Severide together. But, I think you did it well )

Great Story! I like how you changed it to Matt saving them instead of Shay.

GAH! Thank you for writing this! It drove me completely nuts that no one was worried about where Kelly was! Yet Shay didn't show up for a bit and everyone is searching everywhere for her! I love that nearly immediately Matt was concerned, even when he tried to talk himself out of being worried. He knows Kelly would never just ditch, especially when Griffin is coming in. And yes! Matt is on the move! Glad he didn't just let his feeling go and that the Chief gets it and allows him to leave. He probably knows more than most people(excluding possibly Shay) just how close the boys are. Kelly was always so sweet with Nathan! Reassuring him and never panicking that he could tell, even if he is screaming out for Matt in his head! I feel bad for both boys. Matt is going crazy with worry, though Kelly would chastise him over skipping dinner because of it, and Kelly is worried about Nathan and them not being found in time. And FINALLY Matt makes it to the jogging route! And YES! He found Kelly! Its sweet how he is freaking out once he sees blood, worrying about Kelly. I did love seeing Matt enforcing his little brother right to make sure his big bro was ok and comforting him! And of course YAY that Nathan is ok! I also love Matt taking him back home with him to watch over him and take care of him and get him to sleep and eat! Amazing job on this story as always! I love it!

The previews for this one had really scared me, I had thought Severide was gonna get killed off, then the next week I thought Boden was, now this week I'm afraid Casey will be. Lots of stress for Chicago Fire fans I suppose x) I agree it was a bit strange though, Severide was missing for an entire day and nobody really stressed. But anyway, I think this was great, I really liked the coyotes too.

It was disappointing on the show that Casey hardly noticed that Kelly was missing and that Shay was the one to go look for him. So your ending is the better as Matt knows that Kelly wouldn't go AWOL without a reason and could sense he was in trouble. Great that Kelly saved Nathan and Matt saved both of them. Sad to see Boden looks so distressed and defeated. Hope he'll be back!

I know you're all about the Severide and Casey broments, and so am I, usually. My main interest in watching the show is Severide, altho I enjoy his closeness to Casey and Shay. I have been looking forward to this episode ever since it was previewed, because it was about Severide in a (hopefully) life-saving situation of a young boy (much like one with George Clooney in ER YEARS ago!). I've felt like Casey has been so wrapped up with the boys, that he hasn't really given much time or thought to Kelly lately. Shay, too, with that wretched new girlfriend, but at least she still sees and talks to him outside of work. I like (or, liked) their relationship so I was glad, in the eppy, she was the one who went looking for him. Kind of expected it, as she's a bit of a busy-body some times with Severide. And I appreciate you acknowledging her role in the eppy and that Severide had managed to reach the screwdriver and start the backhoe on his own. That being said, I love the broments you create, showing their close bond, and that's what made this another awesome story. Also, the addition of the coyotes was great, added all that much more angst.

After that tangle Severide had with Shays new girlfriend, his father neglecting his kids and Boden may be leaving, he decides to got for a jog to clear his head and jogs near a deserted construction site and a young boy stuck inside an over turned Buckhoe and yelling for help, Severides thoughts are not on his problems anymore only on helping the young boy Nathan, sevride breaks the glass and climbs inside the Buckhoe tries to free Nathan's arm and pulls out the bar and applies pressure to a severed artery, he has to be calm and think wishing Matt were with him right now , he can't use his phone cause he left it in his car cause he didn't want to lose it while jogging, then he happnes to find this young boy in an accident and wishes he would have kept his phone with him when he needs it most, he yells out somebody help us... glad Griffin is more at ease with Uncle Casey and asked to be dropped off at the firehouse with him, glad spellman is gone and Griffin is happy, seeing Caseys office got to sit in the firetruck Griffin thought it was so cool, he asks when uncle Kelly is coming in, Casey tells him soon at least he hopes.. Kelly asks Nathan if he has a phone, its in his backpack outside the Buckhoe, he asks Nathan to hold on til he gets back so he can get his backpack and find the phone, but the phone is crushed oh dang,Kelly tells him everything will be okay, Nathan asks how do you know, Kelly says they have to belive that, they got to have faith that Matt will find them and soon.. casey looks at his watch after cmoing back from an accident and is really worried kelly has not come in yet, so he asks Chief Boden if he has heard from Kelly, he says no and has left messages so has shay, its not like him not to call in, but they all don't know kelly doesn't have his phone with him, casey tries calling him he knew Griffin was coming in today he wanted a ride on the fire truck he was excited about it.. Sevride see's a car go by and races after it but the driver does not see or hear him and reaces back to natahan who is out cold so severide yells to wake him up and tells him he has to stay awake stay with him, he tries to find a better way to get nathan out from under the seat and a pieace of metal slices him ouch!, Casey is very frustrated, Boden is leaving Benny is taking over and wonders where kelly is and ask Shay if she has seen or heard from him, she says no and knows he doesn't play games , his gut tells him something is wrong but what? He ask Nathan if he is still with him, nathan says yes he makes him promise he will stay awake, kelly searches thru Nathans bad and finds a clip and clips the artery so it wont bleed any more, to keep Nathan talking he asks him what he was doing joyriding in this thing, Natahan tells him his dad promied him he would teach him to ride one but took off one day, kelly knows the feeling and hears the sadness in the young boys voice . Casey tells chief he is really worried, Chief tells him to go check his place out he will watch Griffin for him but to come right back, casey checks his room no kelly, oh dang something is wrong.. Kelly asks Natahn how he started the Buckhoe with no key, he said he used a screwdriver but doesnt know where it is, kelly see;s it but as he tries to reach for it he hears coyotes who smell blood, he yells at hem to go away, Nathan ask him if the coyotes will get them, kelly says no they are too high up, no one knows where kelly is and casey is worried, Griffin is worried and hopes hes ok, casey tells him to get some sleep, Kelly asks Natahn if he has a girlfriend, he said no hes is too young, what about you kelly, he says no, funny Natahan ask if he was gay, kelly tells him he is swearing off women for awhile and no hes not gay..lol.. Casey cant sleep cause he knows something is wrong, in the morning griffin ask if he has heard from uncle kelly he tells Griffin no, Casey see's Shay and ask if she has heard from Kelly, she says no and he ask where does he go jogging, shay tells him and ask her if she will watch Griffin she says ok, Casey goes after kelly and finds him in a deserted construction site see's coyotes too and throws rock at them to shoo them away, they get Natahn out and rush him to the hosp, Natahn will be okay after surgery and tells his mom about the man who saved his life, they are both so greatful to Kelly, Casey is gonna make kelly a good breakfast.. LOVED IT.. thank you:}}} hope you get this one:}

Loved it! Although when Kelly pulled the rebar out of Nathams arm, me and my mother were screaming our heads off at him. Would've saved alot of trouble if he had left it in. Yay for Matt finding Kelly! And those dang coyotes! I've never seen one, but I've heard the little suckers! It's nice to see Matt taking care of Kelly, because it's usually the other way around! Matty is more of a trouble magnet than everyone else combined! Can't wait for that next update!

I don't think this piece was weak at all. I wish that Casey would've been the one to find him. The whole coyote things was awesome to have in this story. Much more angst and that ls what makes a story good. I have told you before I love when you incorporate parts of the show into the story and putting your own twist on it. Can't wait for more :) wish the actual show would've had a better ending to it.

That was absolutely great, and I certainly wouldn't say it was a weak piece at all. I love Kelly's actions and his emotions in this story, and Casey's worry. Really good piece of writing - thanks for sharing.

This story was not weak at all. I agree with you that it should have been Matt going after Severide and not Shay and maybe someday the writers will catch on to what the fans want to see more of.

I loved how your story showed Matt being concerned about Severide - and knowing him so well knew he wouldn't pull something like this. No matter how upset he was with everything going on - with Boden, his dad and everything else. I know he didn't want leave Griffin but he really knew he had too and after all of these hours of missing he knew Kelly was in big trouble.

Loved how you threw in the part that Kelly is usually taking care of Matt but this time Kelly got the titled of troublemaker...:-) I'm gld that Kelly and Nathan are both okay .
