i think you like many others dont get the vamps in high school thing. it's not to enjoy the pleasures of a building full of sociopaths that might one day to develop a soul. they dont graduate and immediately move to another place to start high school again. the cullens have to move whenever their looks start not matching the age humans think they are. so high school plus 3-10 years depending on how many people are close enough to notice an incongruity. they deal with high school so they can extend the time between having to pack up and find a new home.

the description seems to be that she painted her ebony black skin white. i dont understand why. couldn't she have added some shades to make her african black with much less work? I've met some first generation african immigrants that were so dark I don't think any light escaped them. it seems like for your bella adding some light application of dark brown shades and she has an african skin tone. if anyone is curious (assuming charlie is white in this story), bella just says her mom is african. making bella essentially put on white-face every morning so she looks like Kirsten Stewart to the high schoolers seems like more work then necessary.

This story is awesome. I'd love to see more.

This is just cruel, such a massive build up to the event, the big meet up only to not have written it :(
Kinda massively disagree with the Twilight vamps vs those in Buffy rant. For one, it's a completely different story being told. Buffy was all about a girl whose destiny is to kill the vampires and the zany group of rejects that help her and that's awesome but it kind of requires the limiting of the danger that they represent since they were a threat to be faced. Twilight was more an escape from the mundane which is, like you said, pretty much a magical plot device but is that really a bad thing? It's first and foremost a romance and doing too much to complicate things etc would muddy that, one of the reasons I liked the series so much was because of how open and unexplored it was in being so focussed on Bella's story. I love Buffy but the massive inconsistency in how threatening vampires were was one of the points that annoyed me. They start out talking about Buffy being the only one able to face them with Giles not even imagining going up against one (despite having training from an organisation whose business it is to kill vamps) but then they end up being mooks who get taken out by Xander. Then you have the Uber vamps with one destroying the slayer and making her feel small and powerless but later normal humans slay them by the dozen? Twilight at least was consistent in the threat that they represent and honestly we'll always have numbers on our side so it's much more interesting to see somethng with the power to at least close the gap. In terms of hiding from society though I'd say it's a mix of Meyer not wanting to deal with the complications of human interference; old vamps holding the power, wanting control and being stuck in their ways; and general fear of escalation that could occur upon discovery. You say their invincible but if they are able to be ripped apart and burnt I'm pretty sure that if pushed people could find a way to wipe them out. Sorry for ranting about your rant, I do like the idea of Bella not being completely vulnerable though (just not really a fan of weakening opponents to do so).

I like this Alice and find her reasonably in character. I think it's pretty much a rule of spending half your time in the future, you're going to often be quite forceful and have a need for control

Alright, I have no idea where you're going with this or why she's randomly a Drow but I'm interested. Especially after that ending. Random, confusing and kinda intimidating Alice is the best Alice
