This is very good. I think you have described Neal accurately. He had never been cared for so he made himself into someone who didn't need to be cared for. I appreciate that El saw Neal as hurt in ways she can't heal, that was significant. And together she and Peter will help him as much as they can. Very nice, I am going to see if you have more WC fic.

I was so happy there was a second chapter! You're a great writer. I'd gladly read more of this if it wasn't complete already.

though, i cant reallyyyy hate el in the show. because hey, she wasnt angry at neal for breaking the law, for getting her indirectly kidnapped or anything. what she was mad about was the man she loved being hurt. and she lashed out only to pull back in once he was safe. it was a natural reaction to be honest. i hate how people hate her for it even if it was painful to watch in itself.
also. youre more than welcome to indulge in snuggle fics :D
