I like this exploration of Thomas' character, using the context of this scene, and you did it really well here. The writing style is excellent, really flows. So yeah. I like it. :D

Bates/Thomas fics are always interesting to read, and this one's particularly good. I've always felt that Thomas would have encountered some prejudice against him and it's not in Bates to let injustice go on (even against Thomas!)

Great fic, with both Thomas and Bates in character. I love that sort of snapshot where you can explore the characters. I hope you'll write more Downton Abbey in the future, especially with Bates!
