When Spock left his hand on Kirk's arm to show his feelings, I let out the strangest squeak-squawk hybrid noise because it was 3 am in a room with three sleeping people so I had to stifle the louder noise I might have made otherwise. Also Kirk starting to feel non-platonic things for Spock in this chapter is so amusing and exciting! I like how you have Pike as a mentor figure for Spock as his advisor, because it implies the potential for the sort of deep relationship for which Spock might commit mutiny in another universe. I'm proud of Kirk for punching Finnegan _ And I like Lauren's character!

I'm still new to the fandom, but I just read your story in less than a day and I totally utterly love it! I've always been a fan of college AU's but this one is just so perfect! It was so sweet, but still seemed so real and like it really could've happened like that and the ending completely melted my heart! Too bad it doesn't have more chapters, I could've gone on reading for days.

I'm really enjoying this story so far. It's sweet without being saccharine, and there's some conflict without invoking mustache-twirling overblown villains. Good job!

One quibble: Spock isn't all that affected by cold. Remember the episode "All Our Yesterdays"? Spock and McCoy are sent to an ice age. After tromping through the snow for a time, Spock is still functioning well when McCoy is lying in the snow, urging him to go on without him, because McCoy's done for. McCoy has frostbite on both his hands and his face, and he can't feel his feet, so Spock hauls McCoy up out of the snow and drags him to Zarabeth's cave. This is not the portrait of a Vulcan who crumbles when the temperature drops. :-) Spock is a very hardy soul.

Very sweet, in a good way. Your young Kirk and Spock have all the innocence of happy uncomplicated childhoods.
