orangefingers chapter 6 . 2/26/2017 I am in tears. The overall story is just brilliant and so deep. You write so wonderfully well, and I could not help but wished Loki's life had turned out this way. He deserved so much love and recognition. Thank you for writing such an amazing story. |
LRRH17 chapter 6 . 6/25/2016 I've just discovered all your stories (if you couldn't tell by my favoriting and community-adding :) ) ...and I love them all, especially this one. You portray the characters so well, and so realistically. Yay Sifki! :D |
musicalgirl4474 chapter 6 . 9/12/2014 This story was great, and I loved the detail. You did the angst very well, but maybe you could have made it a little more dire? You shied a bit from words like death and die, and while I can understand Loki doing that, I think that he would also be realistic, and the words could add some urgency to Sif's injuries. But apart from that, I wouldn't change a thing. Yo had a wonderful plot and you stuck with it. And AH! The scene with Thor at the end . . . so many brotherly feels, it was just GREAT, and lovely end to the story. |
overtherisingstar chapter 6 . 12/2/2013 This was so very beautiful. A lovely story. |
Dean chapter 6 . 11/28/2013 My God. Your fic is amazing. I read most of your stories, and they are all equally amazing. I have a deep fondness to your Sif and Loki characters. And of course Thor also. I like how your story has its own sadness and angst, yet it is beautiful and heartwarming nonetheless. So far you are my favorite Loki/Sif author. You are awesome and thank you for sharing this fic (and others too). You make my day ;)) |
infinitelystrangemachine chapter 6 . 11/27/2013 IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL - this fic was SO beautiful! You write intricately and intimately, and Sif and Loki were just YES. Thank you for shipping this odd ship and for writing this gorgeous story. Well done! |
venomandchampagne chapter 6 . 11/26/2013 I love a happy ending! If only something like this happened in the movies, poor Loki. I really enjoyed this story :) |
Azure-x-Roze chapter 6 . 11/15/2013 This story is amazing, I love it! The way they all accept Loki is heart-warming and makes me really wish this is how things had actually turned out. :) |
A shade of grey91 chapter 6 . 11/14/2013 Better than the original ending |
wbss21 chapter 6 . 11/13/2013 As always, simply brilliant. I absolutely adore how this concluded, with such an air of hope and acceptance, especially in context of how it started, with Loki being burdened by so much heavy doubt and fear and insecurity. To see him come to this place of, if not complete happiness, then at least contentment, is amazing. And what really got me was how Loki was able to find his strength and acceptance in himself though the strength and support of others, and finally realizing that he isn't alone, and that he is loved, and cared for, deeply. The scene with Sif was so touching, with Loki's still almost suffocating self-doubt and fear, how certain he still is that she didn't mean what she'd implied while she was dying, that she would want nothing to do with him now, for knowing what he is, and then seeing Sif lay all of those fears to rest, and telling Loki straight that he's amazing, and that it's only his lack of belief in himself which causes him to think others don't believe in him either. Sif was so strong for Loki here, and it was amazing to see. My heart just ached for Loki though, in how surprised he was when Sif reveals to him that she's always cared for him, and that she wants to be with him. And Loki's shock is made evident by his own relative inarticulateness, how he stumbles over his words when normally he's a wordsmith. You always capture this element in Loki which is what makes him such a tragic and heartbreaking figure, which is his own inability to see his own worth, and thus, his belief that no one else can see any worth in him either. But the way Sif helps him here then makes it all the more incredible. And them finally acknowledging that love and affection between them, and acting on it, was just masterfully built up to and played out. The kiss they share, and this real feeling of it being like a revelation and the fulfillment of something that always should have been. Just beautifully done. I loved the recounting too of how Frigg came to Loki afterwards, and held onto him, before sitting down with him and speaking to him in detail about his heritage, and all that it meant, making a real effort to help him see that he isn't a monster, that the blood him comes from isn't monstrous, or bad, and that there's real beauty to his line. And her speaking of how she knew Loki's birth mother, how she was the one Loki inherited his magic from, and how it was a complication of birth which gave Loki his small stature, nothing else, that was just so well done. It makes you wish that Frigg had sat down with Loki like this in the films and spoken to him, the same as you wish Odin had responded better, because I think that truly is all it would have taken for Loki to be saved. And also just seeing here how Loki's relationship with Odin grows so much healthier, now that there are no secrets between them, and so a trust is allowed to grow, and it brings them closer together. That's how it should have gone, if only Odin had acted a little differently. And of course, the final scene, with Thor, was just incredible. The way you show Thor's growth as a character, and how he puts so much faith and trust in Loki then, and how that faith and trust bolsters Loki's own confidence and peace with himself. You can really see here how Loki admires Thor, and admires Thor for his ability to change, and how he feels ashamed at himself for allowing his own jealousy and insecurity to get in the way of how he's always, truly, loved his brother. I think you can see that in the new film, even, at the end, when Loki is speaking to Thor as Odin, and he tells Thor that he's proud of him. Loki means that, because he says it after Thor is already on his way to leave, already relinquishing his right to the throne. Loki doesn't HAVE to say those words to Thor, but he does, and like everything with Loki, it isn't direct, but when he speaks the truth, it's there, underneath it all. In this, Thor telling Loki that he needs him by his side to rule, acknowledging Loki's vital importance in his own ability to rule, was tremendous, and just what Loki needed to hear. That his place isn't beneath Thor, but right by his side. Amazingly done, as always, and as always, thank you so much for sharing! |
Fanfiction Bard chapter 6 . 11/12/2013 What a nice ending. Everyone accepting Loki as he is. |
BrightWatcher chapter 6 . 11/12/2013 ;_; It's over... Thank you for the story. *nods seriously* The updates have been a highlight of my day for the past week and I shall miss them terribly. But it was more than worth it. I feel happy. I'm glad that you ended primarily with Thor and Loki at the very end. It gave the story more weight and brought more closure to Loki's insecurities and struggles than just accepting Sif's love. He accepted his brothers love and in doing so let go of some of his imagined slights and blind frustrations. Good luck with your writer's muse! |
