| GreenCrystal19 chapter 1 . 2/24 Commas should go after dialogue if it isn’t the end of the sentence; for example: “You must be tired. I’ll show to your room,” Tom said. Would be the proper way to write that. If it was: “You must be tired. I’ll show you to your room.” and the sentence was OVER, it would be a period. It’s a little weird, I know, LOL. Or if someone “talks.” The sentence ends, and then something else happens. Like “Alright, let’s go.” They proceeded to walk away. But if it is “they said” or “they asked” or “as they *insert action* it would be a comma. So if there is a pause after the dialogue ends, a period, and if not, a comma. |
