xIAmAlsoAWe chapter 1 . 6/19/2014 Oh. My. God. I'm absolutely in love with this! Your style of writing is absolutely exquisite; magnificent. I wish I could write like you. I love the way, you keep referencing things and infuse their way back into the story. This was awesome! Truly. The way the dreams and reality were infused was amazing as well. Can't wait to read more of your stories! |
Guest chapter 1 . 2/17/2014 Wow! Such fantastic writing. Absolutely loved it. Brilliant |
Guest chapter 1 . 1/7/2014 Holy shit. Great job. You are the about the only writer since Tikvarn and BlahBlahWahWah who can accurately capture the essence of Sam Swarek. I would pay money to see this instead of what we are bound to get on our screens in 6 months. You know you've written a great futurefic here when I say that this is the first time in a year and a half that I didn't detest Andy McNally. |
neworldiscoverer chapter 1 . 12/15/2013 This is so good. I didn't think I'd find another RB fic writer to add to my current top 3 list, but apparently I was so very wrong. Not only is this a great concept and idea, but it was executed brilliantly! I think what hit home the most for me is that you wrote a completely believable, on-point canon Sam. (Now I'm not mentioning McNally because I feel like majority of people can and will write a superb Andy. She's easier to grasp as a character and I've read a lot of good Andy-centric fics.) In my opinion, 80% of fics are unable to find Sam's voice/character (I am included in this 80%). Some of this 80% can write a passable Sam. It's fine. It's readable, it works. 15% of fic writers write a great non-canon Sam. But "non-canon" I mean that they tweak his character just a little bit to become their personal canon or like to fit in an AU and it turns out to be a solid, real-deal kind of thing. It grabs you, it's so good, but it's not entirely canon Sam. You couldn't put him back in the show and have things be the same because he would have been slightly different and things wouldn't have turned out the way they have. (And you wish very hard that this Same was canon Sam.) This story and this Sam that you wrote fits into the last 5%. Writing an actual, true to life, Sam Swarek. It made for the coolest read! I love how deep into his headspace you went. He just internalizes so much. Basically, two thumbs up, I'm in love, the end! |
Exuperance18 chapter 1 . 12/3/2013 Very well done. I particularly liked how you laced his dreams with the reality. I like your style as well. Thanks for sharing - Emma |
1Shootingstar78 chapter 1 . 11/7/2013 Awesome one shot! :-) |
papaki chapter 1 . 11/6/2013 This is one of the best rb stories EVER! I loved it! How you wrote sam and his dreams and his confusion with reality! You are an amazing writer and i hope there are others stories from you soon! |
stefaniegk chapter 1 . 11/6/2013 This was absolutely amazing. I'm a teeny bit teary eyed and a smite confused. He was dreaming the married life, right? Wonderful job, thank you. |
sfrio chapter 1 . 11/6/2013 Absolutely loved this!. The way you drift back and forth between Sam's subconscious and the real world and sometimes intermingle the two was very powerful. It portrayed a very melancholy Sam. I just about cried at his confusion the lines "It's the way his right hand feels cold because she's not holding it, it's the way there's no booster seat in the back of his truck and no toys in the compartment between the seats. Except, he has no idea what it is" I found what Sam seems to know about family life in his dreams quite interesting. Somehow he knows strong cop Sam Swarek would not be the disciplinarian. Somehow he knows that kids may fight over getting an even number of peas. Somehow he knows about the elementary school playground politics of little girls and the importance of pink sock day. How do those creep into his sub conscious? Smiled from ear to ear at "He's pretty sure that if she had a tail, it would be wagging too!" and that it took him a while to realize that her night sweetie wasn't meant for him. I thought the parallel between Andy missing from his family dreams when she was missing from his life and showing up in his dreams when she started showing up in his life excellent. I'm glad they both finally realized she is really there, Who knows where they'll take it. maybe he'll get that son |
Ally chapter 1 . 11/6/2013 Smashing! I Love your writing style and look into Sam's head. Men can get depressed they just deal with it differently. Sam's wouldn't sit around crying after Jerry died, he'd take action to fix himself like trying to move on. You are so right. It's so sad that he's never had anyone who will stand by him and help him. It's him alone against the world. He did fix himself, no surprise, but he shouldn't let himself fall in with Andy again. She is the "grass is greener" type and adding kids to the mix will only make things worse when she leaves him down the road. He'd make a smashing single parent. He could try to adopt. The left the stove on feeling is better than the having your heart ripped out feeling. |
Meghannna chapter 1 . 11/6/2013 That was so good. So unique. Loved it! |
belcheto chapter 1 . 11/5/2013 I have no words! Seriously this is amazing! I loved the back and forth and the way it all worked together. Beautifully written! |
Sam 'Dimples' Swarek chapter 1 . 11/5/2013 Wow. I really felt for Sam. So many emotions going through this story |
abj chapter 1 . 11/5/2013 Holy shit! Shut the front door! This made my (late) morning! I agree whoever said it but this is nothing like ones I've read on ff., I seriously admire your writing skills because even if this is just a one shot I'm still highly impress with how you pulled it off! :D |
Guest chapter 1 . 11/5/2013 Super. Fantastic. I'm dissapointed that Andy stayed away from him while he was recovering but since Sam's used to dealing with things on his own he didn't seem to expect anything different. I really enjoyed your unique take on Sam and how he might feel in the aftermath of last season. I would love to read more from you. |
