| Spiralling-Down chapter 8 . 6/28/2014 Awww, that ending was just perfect! Friendship fics always get to me, especially K/S/M friendship. And I thought you did a really great job of keeping them in character even when the subject's so different to what we see in the show. :) Oh my God, though, Russian Roulette! *Shudders* I felt all agitated when I was reading that part, despite knowing McCoy would come out of it... On a related side-note: Have you ever heard of Derren Brown? He's pretty famous in England, basically real life Sherlock Holmes, but with more hypnotism and magic tricks. :P (He recently convinced a guy it was the zombie apocalypse in order to help him become a better person.) Anyway, he once did Russian Roulette - the idea was that this guy he'd spent a few weeks getting to know loaded the bullet in a numbered slot, then read out the numbers one to six, and Derren was meant to be able to work out which slot it was in from the inflections in the guy's voice. And it was the most nerve-wracking two minutes of TV I've ever watched, because they were showing it live with ambulances waiting outside and everything (except for like a two second pause, in case he got shot in the head and they had to switch the broadcast off), so there was a full minute and a half of silence while he stares at the gun because he freaking got it wrong and fired an empty slot at the sandbag and then had to rethink where the bullet was... Umm, so yes. Sorry to start rambling about that in a review! Your story just reminded me of it and I felt the need to share. :P But again, fantastic story, well done! :D |
