A few years late perhaps, but I just finished reading your fic. Overall, it is one of the better Tentoo/Rose stories I've read. Up until the last five chapters, it is one of the very few that attempts to treat Rose and Tentoo like the complicated adults they are and give them each emotional credit. The plot was very believable as Doctor Who, too.

That said, I do have some concrit:
Aside from what others have said about pacing and Jake's story being too predictable, the last five chapters invalidated Rose. The slow build between Rose and Tentoo in previous chapters was absolutely credible and reasonable given what Rose went through to get back to the Doctor. But by the end, Rose completely regressed to being a love-sick teenager and taking back nearly all of the healthy emotional boundaries she'd put on the relationship, e.g., when the Doctor attempts to run away after witnessing the "kiss" between Jake and Rose. After that incident, I don't believe she would have immediately proceeded with a romantic relationship. If anything, her resolve to keep him as simply a friend would have been reinforced, as she'd keep wondering if he'd run at the slightest problem, either professionally or interpersonally. (At that point, he would have.) Had you added about ten chapters and shown a clear recognition on Tentoo's part not to leave, I'd have believed the ending.

This was by far the best Doctor Who fan fiction I have come across. I typically shied away from Ten II stories because of my trouble accepting him just as Rose had, it seems. But your story made me feel much better about him as well, so thanks for that!

You mentioned that there will be a sequel a few years ago; has that ever happened? Is it perhaps posted somewhere else on the internet?

I was going to save my review for the end, but the emotions in this chapter were just so real and raw that I needed to take a moment to A) Recover and B) Applaud you on your amazing writing skills. You have the characterization down perfectly and I have a feeling I'll be rereading this story long after I finish the last chapter.

Nice chapter! I could taste the chips and milkshake.. and the jelly babies and fudge.. great, I'm peckish now! Well done. )

A note about the jelly babies, I was confused by the talk about them and had to reread what the Doctor and Rose were saying a couple of times to make sense of it all. I think it might be a UK/US difference making things confusing? See, in the UK jelly babies and jelly beans are completely different types of sweets. Jelly babies are soft, powder coated, baby shaped squishy fruity sugary things. Whereas, jelly beans are harder, smaller bean shaped things with a shiny-ish surface, and come in flavours that Jelly babies would never dream of (thankfully, because buttered popcorn-flavour babies wouldn't go so well with their texture, IMO).

Oh wow this story had everything I could have ever imagined! It was hard reading this when Rose rejected the Doctor because she thought he was just a clone but the last chapters made all of that angst so worth the wait. Then that twist with Jake! At the beginning I had a feeling about him, he seemed off but I dismissed it thinking it was too obvious but then bam it turned out it had been him all along. And now the thing with the Sontarans declaring war on Earth! Just fantastic! Can't wait to see if the sequel is up yet.

If Price of Victory was supposed to be a prequel, Rose should have at least thought of Victor at some point, but anyways, maybe he gets mentioned in the sequel?

Anyways, if they can manage to convince the Sontarans that that was their only weapon, they might not think them worthy of fighting anymore. Then again, when the Sontarans come and scan the planet, they might figure that out for themselves.

Still, looking forward to seeing what happens.

Fabulous story! You had such a strong balance of action and romance, plot and character development. I loved it, and I'm looking forward to the sequel!

This story was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I wish I could fav it again! The plot, the characters, EVERYTHING, was just spot on. Just speechless. Definitely one of the best stories I've encountered on this site. Am excited for the sequel! Thank you so much. :)
