If rolling thinks that's r/hr is better than h/hr, she's out of her mind. I don't think r/hr was intended. She just made a few bad decisions at the end.

This is one of the most beautiful and amazing story about Harry and Hermione I've ever read..

Sigh. Oh if only. I took great pleasure in excising the epilogue out of my book. Harry and Hermione are the only thing that makes sense. Why J.K. couldn’t see that Hermione and Ron would have been heading for the divorce courts within three years, I don’t know. This was lovely, thank you.

I've always been a Ronmione shipper but holy hell this was so damn good. My best friend and I are doing a reread so I was looking for something great to send her and got so absorbed myself! And I LOVED the part at the end where McGonagall got to see the two of them together because as my friend points out every time it's mentioned, McGonagall definitely shipped them too. So thank you for your brilliant story! The line that killed me the most honestly was the part where Harry lied about seeing her as a sister for Ron's sake. Ugh, well done.

This was so beautiful. I fully expected H/Hr to happen at the end of the series and was totally thrown for a loop at finding out that Hr supposedly liked R the entire time. Like what!? It was so obvious that H/Hr had a much stronger connection than R/Hr. And you're right that R/Hr do bring out the worst in each other for the years. Hermione understands Harry like none other, except perhaps Luna. Ginny was totally random in HBP.

Harry and Hermione are as coherent and believable as Hermione and Hagrid.

God, I would have LOVED to see Maggie Smith end the series there, with that scene, with that line and with her particular smirk plastered all over her face as she turned away from them! No bloody stupid, infantile epilogue either. This was a masterpiece and JK should damn well read it and rewrite DH accordingly and rerelease it!

That was easily one of the BEST HHr one-shot during/post-DH fics that I have ever read! Seriously! :-D

To be honest, I'm not much for romance when it comes to the HP series, but I've always preferred Harry with Hermione and vice versa; Ron and Hermione just didn't make sense when you gather up all the HHr evidence that JK Rowling herself has planted throughout the entire series, despite her [past] official claims. In light of her recent claims, however, your fic perfectly shows us what could've been, had she gone that route. I actually wouldn't have minded the final pairings so much if JK Rowling had given us better reasons for those pairings. Not to mention, there were just too many moments between Harry and Hermione from their first meeting until pre-epilogue. Whereas she deliberately ignored those moments to favor the more commercial pairings, you, on the other hand, chose to highlight those very moments in a superbly realistic, almost canon-like, way that I absolutely appreciate!

So thank you for writing such a wonderful fic! I'm not surprised that you've received some heat as a result of this fic, but that's sadly to be expected from narrow-minded folks who can't respect others' opinions. Because that's what this was - your opinion. You expressed your preference to HHr, and instead of respecting your opinion, some people chose to berate you for being blind to the series. Honestly, it's not like you were rewriting the books. You simply wrote a what-could've/should've-been story, nothing earth-shattering *rolling eyes*

Anyway, I hope you write more fics in the future. You posses true talent for weaving well-written tales. I've seen and read many atrocities over the years, especially on this site. By far, you stand out from the crowd ;-)

It wasn't bad but I agree with most of the other reviews. It isn't in the books. I ship r/hr all the way. They were meant to be where as h/hr was more brother/sister then lovers.

Every now and then I find a Harry/Hermione fanfic that is really good AND believable, but not often. Those two are so not ment for each other romantically. Ron/Hermione all the way. I only contemplated H/Hr in the first couple books as a possible future pairing, but as the books continued I realized that wouldn't be a good thing. Ron can give as good as he gets from Hermione.

And as for people shipping H/Hr because Ginny is underdeveloped, of course she is. and that doesn't bother me since the series is not primarily a romance. The only reason R/Hr is more predominant is because, with Harry, they are the main characters so they will automatically get more spotlight.

Just some thoughts. Not trying to convince you either.

Although I don't agree r/hr was obvious even though Ron crush was obvious in the later books and even if Rowling really always intended for it to go r/hr she seemly unwittingly made it seem more likely in the books that it could go either way with r/hr or h/hr up till the epilogue.
Also I always saw that brother and sister line for what it was a cop-out when Rowling realized she possible unintentionally made Harry & Hermione closer to each other then she wanted for it to be believable that they would end up with other characters.
Also just based on the characters character I just can't realistically see Ron & Hermione relationship lasting long term for reason that should be obvious, as for Harry & Ginny just based on there characters character, well it's hard to say mostly because Ginny character was so under-developed and that she barely talk to Harry at all in fact there break up conversation was likely the longest conversation they had with each other.

This is like any Harmony shipper dream. You described and stated EVERYTHING I thought about while reading the books and watching the movies. It's a given that Daniel and Emma had a lot of chemistry, but also the characters they portrayed had such an subtle yet alluring chemistry between them as well - and I believe the actors picked up on that. Ahhh, the scenes you wrote - I really wish it was cannon.
