Dean Brooks chapter 19 . 6/30 This was cute, and i loved it. There was a brief drarry moment but it didn't take up too much and worked well with the relationship development. It would have been nice it it was a slower story but its not important. Me being who i am (a kinky bit*ch) wouldbhave liked more lemon but once again its not important or needed in the story. It was great and needs more reads. |
Kris chapter 13 . 10/26/2019 Chapter 13 small typo "lose contact" not "loose contact" |

DeeDee Minnie chapter 9 . 2/9/2019 There hasn't been any more mentions of the parrot... surely you haven't forgotten about him? I know he's not a main character, but still... |
DeeDee Minnie chapter 5 . 2/9/2019 LMAO! Love the parrot :D |
a pair of ragged claws chapter 15 . 12/31/2018 OK, this story is very compelling—otherwise why would I be binge-reading it like this?—but there is also something (obviously, I think?) alarmingly disturbing about it. Which is largely why it’s compelling, I guess. There is this ingenious ironic distance from the narrator so that we are able to see Sev’s mistakes (unintentionally [?] cruel and manipulative ones involving a deeply traumatized survivor of unspeakable abuse) even as Sev himself (and the narrator as well, to make things exponentially more creepy) seems believes he is trying as hard as humanly possible to be honorable in a complex and difficult situation. Clearly he’s made even more sympathetic by the fact that he lives in a world with laws and customs so archaic that there is conveniently no oversight or questioning of his carefully constructed tower of self-deception. Also I just have to say, at the risk of being glaringly obvious again, that the timing/pace of this fic is really strange, but refreshingly so. It is if the story has been written by someone as old as this AU’s Dumbledore, who says the years have “just gotten away from him” when he saunters in with the blithely “absurd” question about whether Harry is settling in...absurd, precisely because he is asking that important question four years after he SHOULD have come by to ask. So to add to the weird but intriguing narrative distance issues I mentioned above, there is also the fact that this narrator has a strikingly ancient mindset. After all, Draco kisses Harry for the first time, Sev spanks him in jealous retaliation, and then—for a full schoolYEAR—Harry tries to talk to Draco in the halls, but Master Sev is always somehow right behind him—and, like Dunmbledore, the narrator negligently blinks and, a couple paragraphs later, that year is over. I’m not saying this exactly as a criticism—it’s very different, it’s a weird foreign feeling to read at this pace—but it’s interesting and different and thought-provoking, especially with the disturbing content. I’m saying “disturbing” from my perspective as a thirty-something-year-old (Sev’s age) professor involved in the BDSM community. So I’m going to keep reading now. Thanks for the oddly addictive yet super-disturbing plot that is unfolding! |
moodysavage chapter 19 . 9/29/2018 I really loved this story. I hated what happened to Harry but liked how Severus always put Harry's well being first. Only one thing jarred me. That contract that said Severus had use of Harry's body anytime, in front on anyone, or to GIVE AWAYwhenever he chose. With Harry's background that doesn't seem like something either of them would ever want. |
Guest chapter 19 . 8/2/2018 "You are safe now Harry and I will protect you, always." Good. |
dee bowker chapter 19 . 7/14/2018 Thank you so much dear author for this very elaborate and emotional story of Harry James Potter & Severus Septimus Snape, my very favorite pairing. I imagined however that I felt your reticence to have them engage in a more, shall we say - passionate relationship. I always have trouble with the D/s world but I keep returning to it because of the excitement of one person immersion in another, letting go of the fears and control completely. I think you did a great job of showing that in 'Life As I Know It'. (:D) I was hoping for more description of the sensuous/sexual 'training' of sub. Harry but I'm unaware of Live Journal's rating system. I usually entertain myself by reading explicit fics on AO3. I would love to have witnessed some of Harry's dreams come true in 'real' life. Would have definetely enjoyed seeing S.S. lose that tight control he had over his urges and show how he really felt about 'his' Harry. With H.P. enthusiastically egging him on;) So thank you once again for continuing on with this tale and seeing it through to the end, a huge accomplishment for any writer. Keep writing and happy days...Deedee |
Jeana chapter 19 . 7/8/2018 I’m not a member or author but I was very glad to see that you addressed the sources of the bill of rights and the contract! And as a Dominant in the BDSM world, this was a very decent portrayal of the lifestyle from someone who is not so good job! |
crotia chapter 19 . 11/21/2017 I totally loved your story. it was awesome. the writing was good. you kept it the right length while still covering this many years without it being too long and detailed. But you didn't do this by leaving details but by not writing out every little possible unimportant scene. overall it was a job very well done |
crotia chapter 14 . 11/20/2017 ahw poor severus. I really feel for him. |
wandamarie chapter 19 . 7/26/2017 thank you and please update when you get a chance to |
