Reviews for Addition to Isabo's Shirt
annejoy chapter 4 . 5/28/2017
Wonderful story!
I love the analytical approach KJ has on her relationship with Chakotay. It's so more realistic - much more IC than the 'love on the first sight'.
Now I have to read Isabo's shirt again...

Beautiful analysis of Janeway's thoughts and motivations! I love that story very much, and your additions make it an even better read.
northernexposure chapter 4 . 7/15/2014
Janeway's introspection in this piece is brilliant - it really gives a good understanding of where she's coming from. It was also great to see the events of Isabo's Shirt from her perspective. Dammit, I wish we'd see this on screen! Excellently done.

A great analysis into their relationship
KJaneway115 chapter 4 . 11/27/2013
This is a very in depth character study of Janeway in particular. You did a great job of chronicling her thoughts about her relationship with Chakotay in a way that was very believable and in character. Everything about this is so bittersweet. Heartbreaking. Great first story!
DeltaCat chapter 2 . 11/11/2013
Your title is misleading!
This story is about SO much more than an addition to the Kirsten Beyer novel!

I LOVE your chapter 2! with the sweeping perspective from the very beginning of Janeway's mission all the way up to season 5.
Liz chapter 4 . 10/31/2013
Well, I had to re-read. :). I just really love this. I love Kathryn's sudden (and embarrassing lol) realization that HE was the one who kept the relationship from progressing, and not her. Ha! I love that she's kinda surprised and irritated with herself over that. :)

You are an amazing writer. I can't believe all the introspection and inner monologue here, and I never got lost or bored. I found this to be completely in-character, at least with the series, and now I have to go buy and read Distant Shores.

I hope you have more stories cooking! I feel like you have their voices just right!
Singing Violin chapter 4 . 10/30/2013
Nice addendum to the short story, here, though I'm a little confused how "a captain can't afford to cry" suddenly turned into "she couldn't stem the flow of tears." I kind of want more to the ending of your version, where we see how he reacts to her tears (other than telling her stories) and perhaps, her reaction to the story in light of all you've added in the background here? So, perhaps you could consider writing a sequel? I see this is your first story...at least here...and I'm quite impressed...I'd love to see more from you, either a continuation of this or something completely different. Keep writing!
Singing Violin chapter 3 . 10/30/2013
I have to say I'm a little bit miffed on Kathryn's behalf, here, the way you've made a point in the previous chapters how Chakotay is just attractive to everyone and ends up sleeping with women within hours of meeting them...since when has Janeway become one of Chakotay's women? He's suddenly treating her like one, and I don't like it! I'm glad she stopped him. She deserves more...he can't just kiss her without warning and get away with it, no matter what he thought of her present! He's got to prove to her that he's worthy of her, and that she's not just another Kellin or Seska to him...I'd throw him in the brig, presently, if I were the captain! That being said, I do love the way you thoroughly describe her thought process and her own confusion over her feelings about him.
Singing Violin chapter 2 . 10/30/2013
I love the way you describe the relationship between Chakotay and B'Elanna, and maybe it's usually accurate, but what do you make of the scene at the end of "Faces," in which B'Elanna is crying and Chakotay doesn't touch her or anything, just opens his mouth as if to say something, but says nothing, then closes it again and walks out on her?
Carrie L chapter 4 . 10/30/2013
Beautiful! Thank you!
Liz chapter 3 . 10/30/2013
LOOOOOOOOOVE this! So much! I find this so realistic, given the canon of the series. During a re-watch, I was keenly aware of how little canon indication of their feelings there was. I mean, certainly I felt it was there, or I wouldn't be reading fanfiction about it, lol... But this piece just fits in so seamlessly. Love it love it!
SusanC chapter 2 . 10/29/2013
I haven't read Isabo's Shirt, but love your story and how you have created Janeway's inner dialog, especially her musings about his relationship with B'Elanna. Keep writing Voyager stories!
