Holy hell! You bloody shot him 14 frigging times! I know you have serious issues with Billy but dang! I thought for sure you'd killed him. Again! I was so relieved at the end when Billy, God bless him, finally opened his eyes and spoke. Bless you for that small miracle. :)

Casey... he gets the Emmy in this story. His words, his actions, his non-words... amazing.

I loved this- all the whump and concern but I also loved your theme of sacrifice and how the guys will get the job done even when, personally, it's not worth it. I think Casey said it best up there (and I would quote it, but my copy/paste is not working), but that he doesn't like Michael's choice and partially hates him for it, it's what they all would have done and it is worthy of respect. I think you would have to think like that or it would be impossible to do the job, or at least do it well.
