Sobbing, now... It's so unfair. Poor Doctor and River too. It hurts so much, River's lack of knowledge and herunintentionally hurting the Doctor...just as it hurt knowing River's suffering when she was the one knowing everything.

Actually, this makes sense (even without Jack). The Doctor would probably have been comforted by River at least somewhat, but if it was only slightly before she was going to the Library, he would be completely alone...

But I honestly don't mind. I love sad fics as much as I love funny ones, and this one was still amazing. I love the idea of Jack as a sort of couples' therapist. :P Especially because it addressed one of the main parts of the Doctor and River's relationship that I love exploring.

Yeah, the Doctor lost the Ponds and every time he looks at River he's reminded of The Library. But he can't tell her about the library, so he just gets more depressed. I think that he loses River before The Snowmen. When she showed up in The Name of the Doctor, it was obviously post Library. Losing all three of them would devastate him.

I had a feeling that it was going to be River waiting in the bar for Jack. Loved their interaction and of course River's 'spoilers' of meeting Jack in a different time. ;) If anybody could lift the Doctor up, at least partially, it's his wife and his immortal friend.

Jack's impromptu speech had me smiling. Sometimes the Doctor needs some tough love and pointing out of the obvious. Very tender moment between the three. And as sad as it was you had to go and dump River heading off to meet Lux into the mix, didn't you? Rude. :P

Wonderful addition to your little series here. River and Jack meeting in this AU was better than I imagined. :) Keep up the good work.
