Very nice short story you have here. Only critique I have is that Katara seems out of character sometimes in that she uses more modernized phrases. Same with Zuko on one account. Other than that, it's lovely. The language is beautiful, it fits with canon, and it's a deeper look into their relationship. I can see this actually happening.

I think the bit about Zukos mother NOT killing wouldent have beens oemthing that ZUko would contest, well if hes thinking that OZAI did the deed maby, but...
you had a nice piece here, anger and forgiveness are only instant things when your in dire straights and NEED them to be, generally far better to do a gradual choice and let it ease...
like the insight on Katara, makes sense really on things she would have thought and felt aobut her mothers killer...
