Honestly, I have to agree. Remus is Sirius' best friend and we did get much from him after the latter's death and he certainly wasn't there for Harry after Sirius died. I get that he had to do work for the Order but that doesn't change the fact that he could've at the least checked up on Harry, who no doubt was hurting badly from Sirius' loss.

"Harry had always wanted someone who would care for him and him only, as selfish as that thought was." Yeah, it is a selfish thought but it's also human.

Once again you got the characters in character. Reading the "I'm a werewolf yet I can't ignore bright spots in my life" paragraph is so bittersweet because despite how he is always smiling he acted exactly the opposite of this in the book. I like how your story has him break way from that tendency (he doesn't get past the feeling until somewhere in Deathly Hallows) and be more proactive in helping Harry. Remus' integrity makes him a good role model for Harry. Perhaps he can teach Harry the virtues of being ... a patient man.

One thing I do have to disagree with to an extent on something Remus said towards the end:"I'll always be there for you". It's what "The Moon and Shooting Stars" said about Remus not being there for Harry in previous years. I know it sounds harsh but it doesn't make it wrong. If Remus had acknowledged his mistakes, then I would be more okay with what he said.

Other than that, good story.

I loved this. Remus Lupin is my favorite character and he didn't have nearly enough page time or screen time in my opinion.

Ye gods, what I think is that I wish Harry could go to live with him instantly, if not sooner. Remus sounds well balanced, as though before he was bitten, he had a good family to support him, so yes, he does have time. Harry is young, he is already badly damaged; his sense of self-worth nearly non-existent, and he has already passed so much of his formative steps. I wish there was more of this, helping Harry through what he needs.

Ooooh, dramatic irony! Because Lupin does die in DH *sob*

Thank you for your fan fiction. Remus has always been one of my favourite characters and he should have stepped in after Sirius' death (or even before). His character could have been developed so much more and you did that, so thank you.

Thanks for a nice story. Remus has always been my favorite adult character, and I like the fact that he has ties to James and Lily. His integrity makes him a good role model for Harry - better, perhaps, than Sirius or even his own father. Even better, perhaps he can teach Harry the virtues of being ... a patient man.

TTATT It's heartbreaking... I bawled my eyes out almost in each paragraph I read. Favourited it!

I too was surprised that Lupin and Sirius were not more in Harry's life. Especially when you see them cast as such strong actors and then just kind of left dangling. Both men, in their back stories had really interesting lives and ideas but that was it.

Loved the patience of Lupin, opening a way into Harry's heart and giving him hope.

I like the story, I get where your going with it and I thought it was cute, but when Remus said "I'll always be there for you", I kinda wanted Harry to be like "you only talked to me in third year because you were my professor, didn't try all that hard to tell me that you knew my parents, until I mentioned what I'd heard, you never talked to me in 4th year, not once, and the only reason I saw you in 5th was because you were living with Sirius and that was only a handful of conversations, so don't act like you care." I get you were going for a cute family fic, but it kinda goes against Remus's actions so far.. sorry if this sounds like a flame, it wasn't intended to be that way..

This is so much better than what happened in canon..thank goodness for fanfiction..lol.
