I just came across this. Scrolling through the fanfic site I told myself not to read those sad ones but... This is so heartbreakingly beautiful and I love how you portray Thorin, it's perfect. I cannot find any fault in this except it makes me cry. You are very talented so please write more stories, happy ones pleassseeee... I know real life is not always perfect and happy, but let us live in happy fantasy land now and then :) Thanks for sharing.

This is an absolutely stunning one-shot. Your use of imagery and figurative language is divine; most writers either use too much so that their pieces are overly flowery or use none at all, but your writing is perfectly balanced and I greatly appreciate your beautiful use of metaphor and simile. The repetition works really well too and you've created a kind of bobbing, painfully tranquil rhythm with your piece. Your characterisations are spot-on and I adored the interaction between Dis and Dwalin in the closing tableau. This was an absolute pleasure to read, thank you!
