Guest chapter 1 . 12/21/2019 This was a wonderful story. Absolutely amazing. But I have a question. Jellal was a vice professor for the most part of this story, but someone like him, before he was the professor, he was in Emergency department, right? So before he became a vice professor, was he like a surgeon in the department? Or was he an anesthetist, etc? And can you be a surgeon in the Emergency department? |

NotActiveForeverGone chapter 38 . 9/21/2018 Okay, I finally bit the bullet and decided to read your story. What I mean by that, is that Make My Heart Beat is a popular story in the GrUvia fandom and, of course, I'm the one who hasn't read it yeteven though, it's kind of ideal because JeRza is equally as important as GrUvia is in my heart and this story beautifully explores both couples. So, yes, this story is beautiful. The plot is exciting, binge-worthy and your knowledge of medical terms is quite extraordinary. There's also the fact that the romance is absolutely stunning and your portrayal of the characters is so well done. Really, I am quite happy I read this. Yett, I struggled. Now, I'm not saying this to be mean and I understand what you said in the end about constructing the dialogue in a way that was more Japanese, but it was a difficult read to complete. Your grammar hurt my eyesonce again, I don't want to be mean. My mind was on autocorrect the entire time and I kept changing the word order, your use of words and every titbit in between. I mean, I understand that English isn't your first language and it isn't mine either. I won't even say that my own grammar and writing is the ideal, because I do struggle and suck as wellbut I am trying to learn and I do read a lot of books. My problem, basically, is that even after you had a beta, I struggled to complete the read. I feel like the story was so compelling, your spelling was marvelous, but the grammar dragged at the story. I know no one on this site is a published author and all that, but I just want to warn you to, please, look at things such as tense, grammar, word choice and point of view in the future. Sometimes, I wasn't even certain whether you were writing from a character's point of view or your own. Remember to define this in an understandable way in the future. Please. And, if you are working by a character's point of view, it's always best to ascertain that your change of one character to the next is done in a way that clearly indicates that change. (Check Confession Confusion or Fighting Fate by hikarijade13 in the GrUvia and JeRza archive of fanfictions for a suitable example of how this can be donealthough those stories are written in first person point of view, the rules don't change and can be applied to 3rd person as well.) Okay, now that I made myself out to be a rather salty person, I want to apologize. My family and friends have taken to calling me a Grammar Nazi and it is a pretty big personality fault. I always try to hide these things when reviewing on fanfiction, but I feel like you have the skill set to become a great author and, if you do apply these simple tips, you might even publish a novel or something like it in the future (if you want to, of course, I can see that you really love your career and I'm certain that the medical profession is a lovely place to be in). Now, to finish off my review, I just want to say that I will gladly recommend this story to anyone who wants to read a GrUvia fanfiction, or even a story about the medical field, and I don't want to be mean. I only wanted to give constructive criticism and I know you might not even read this review, but I felt like sharing it with you to help you. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. This was a wonderful story. underwaterstars |
