I absolutely cannot see the rebels as the good guys. They are basically fascists leading a military coup. The IOA represents the civilian governments that supply manpower and money to the program. I can not condone military personell refuse to comply with orders given by their civilian oversight. Especially not when they are legal.
I really find it tiring that people don't seem to get what the IOA is. They think they are some kind of evil shadow Organisation that's only there to make life hard on our heros but that's not the case.
If you have a large scale multinational operation you need a leadership committee that represents the member nations.
Sam and John basically betrayed their oat and all that they swore to protect. For what? Petty feelings.

Really, they are nothing but criminals now and I don't get how they think they will get away with this.

6000000 light years is nothing in stargate. It's true that a daedalus would take some 11 years to get there but I am sure earth would build new ships and they would be hell bent on getting Atlantis back especially since it represents a massive hazard to earth.

The asgard o niell class could travel some 4000 light years per second and earth at this point has everything they need to replicate that technology. I don't see them getting away with this.

Well, it is very hard to see Shepard or Sam as "good guys". To me, they are traitors, who betrayed their homeworld.

You do realize that this is what happens when a GENOCIDE fails?The Stargste crew are dealistic -but they look like genocidal hypocrites whenever they pull a war crime-evil race or no. As far as I'm concerned, they need to stop committing genocide to deserve to get out of this one,and I would appreciate this being recognized by the Stargate crew.

Hi, really enjoyed reading your story, you got the characters right down & how they would think. Great to see Todd the wraith really Wraithy, most seem to play him soft, but we all know he's a nasty creature & that's how we love him. I was quite moved by what you did with Rodney, made me think of him quite differently, though I always did like him. The others are just as they are really.
This was quite an adventure, you have a great imagination & write well, unafraid to go where others have not, you took it right out there. I look forward to reading more from you.

Great story and ending!

A friend recommended this story to me and I have to say it didn't disappoint. I haven't read the original but this was fantastic. You took all the darker elements of Atlantis, but kept the humor and the characters. They all acted pretty much how I would imagine them (with a few minor exceptions, but to each their own) and the plot was solid and had me on the edge of my seat.

If you stumble upon this and like a well thought out and detailed story, and don't mind a bit of darkness, i highly recommend reading this fic. It's very very satisfying as it weaves together a large part of the Atlantis story, and really brings back that underdog feel.

Just be warned, there's a non-canon ship, a few minor character deaths, and lots and lots of whump. You really should say that at the beginning.

You already know what I think: absolutely brilliant. This is an exciting, thrilling story that keeps you turning the page, so to speak. Characterisation, dialogue, writing style, balance between serious undertones and humour... All good.
