That horcrux argument wasn't the best. Killing doesn't split the soul. Rowling never insinuates that. Because "killing" and "murdering" is NOT the same. Aurors kill in the line of duty, to protect themselves, their colleagues and the population from the bad guys. Murderers kill for fun, for sport, for sexual excitement, because they feel entitled to or to hide another crime. That's vastly different.

I have no idea...With the Murderous ones you know they are there so you can stop them,but its also stupid if you want to rule...All of them have strengths and weaknesses..in terms of a good dark lord I'd agree with Harry.I liked it!

I think Hufflepuff is the house that Dark Lords come from.

Think about it...when you become King or Minister or President, who do you trust absolutely, with no questioning?

A Hufflepuff can whisper in the ear of the guy in charge, and when that guy is taken out because he's apparently evil, who do they put in charge? Who comes out a hero? Who's much better than that last guy who was in charge?

Great story. yeah, I've had a variation of this conversation more than once. I prefer the political ones or the ones you never realized were there. you know, throughout the entire story I got the feeling that harry was going to be the dark lord. is that what you were aiming for?

As for what kind of dark lord i would go for all 3.
Also as for the soul splitting thing I just assumed that if you didn't take some of it out that it would just heal itself over time.

This was good with a nice insight into Riddle and a Horcrux creation. A good point about those in power they would need the traits of a Dark Lord.

I think Fudge was too stupid to be one as he depended on things remaining the same while he was in office which was never going to last. Dumbledore was the best one he had power of his own and had a wide sphere of infleunce and nobody thought him a dark lord even when he was one given how he does things for an unknown greater good, is quick to throw away followers and often does not act very light given how he used and manipulated Harry so he could not get his own hands dirty.

I prefer the ones you never realized were there as the ones who kill are easy to spot and are not forgotten which makes it harder to get things done. Tom Riddle could never get over he was bested by a baby so spent more time dealing with Harry than just taking over. Political ones are the most common but its hard to be one given you have to act good but try and push forward an agenda. If underesimated you could get what you want and be thanked for it rather than feared or hated.

I think Salazar Slytherin was like that he founded a school so was viewed a good, was able to gain followers and infleunce beyond the school thanks to his students before he decided to act and fight for his ideals. I bet Godric and the others did not see him coming. Slytherin's ideals endured as well.
