It is rare for someone to have the talent to paint so complete a picture that the reader peaks into an imaginary world and sees it as real. You have that gift. The beginning of chapter two is so crystal clear in my imagination that I'm sure I will see it when I go to sleep tonight. Moreover, since I read Moby Dick at the age of 9, I have not read a story that I had to work so hard at understanding. I feel like an elementary student in a college class. I followed your train of thought, but I really had to work at it. Your level has humbled me. I bow to a master.
