Reviews for Relative Insanity
moonwalker750 chapter 1 . 8/11
This is so freaking insane. Don't know what it says about my mental condition but I seem to have a love for inhumanely human characters and your Erik is the embodiment of this.
Awww god I'm such a bad reader. I binge read thru Erik's past mental institution and yet have to read the story. It was just so captivating. I wanted to know more. And with the mindset of 'only one more, then I'll be back reading the story' I work thru all of them.
Batty Dings chapter 42 . 6/16
I don't usually enjoy AU phics, but I'm so into this.

I hope you eventually update and finish it! It feels as though you are in the final stretch!
pinkdynamite chapter 42 . 1/23
First of all... WOW! This story is absolutely engrossing. I sat and read it all in go, and staying up until 5 in the morning was totally worth it. I hope this story isn't abandoned because I NEED to know how it ends! It's definitely going on my favourite and follow lists.

Gabriezzu chapter 42 . 3/3/2019
Oh. Lord.
I don’t even know how to begin describing how much I ADORED this story (and still do! Take fore granted that if you ever update, I’d click the notification faster than you can blink!).
The characters are so, so alive. So pitiful, so sad, so adorable. I feel so deep for them, even for the ones that went as quick as they came, such as poor, brave Rodolphe and loyal, trusting and innocent Valentine.. Mathilde, Jacques, Jean-Pierre, Rose... they all make my heart hurt with anger at how cruel life treated them. Rose’s story, in particular, deeply perturbed me, though not nearly as much as Erik’s did... but I’ll talk about him later. I just felt that each and all of your OCs were so masterfully used in the story that at times I didn’t even cared for Christine or Raoul or Erik. I cared for everyone equally, and that’s something that only your fic has ever done. Just wonderful!
I must also admit that I feel bad for poor Daddy Daaé. As awfully judgmental as he was, I cannot hate him nor blame him for that; for at heart I know he only worried for his child... though at times his selfishness truly made me dislike the man. Still, his sudden death was sad.
Raoul was another element that I loved endlessly. So selfish, and so entitled. So Leroux! Such a rich boy who can’t see beyong his own powdered nose, even when he has his best intentions at heart...
And Christine? Uff, what can I even say about her? Marvelous. Perfection. I loved how she matures throughout the story; how her illusion shatters and sees reality for the first time. I love how she stops being the “sweet, naive child” to become the strong-willed woman she truly is inside. Just perfection. Not forced, not suddenly, not unbelievable. Simple maturity starting to bloom in a young woman’s mind. Fantastic. Beautiful.
And finally, Erik. Lord, what can I even say about him? I feared him. Never before had I feared or found Erik truly disturbing in a fic in which, at the end, I still want him to be happy. Usually, the Scary Eriks are mad beyond reach and end up Bad. But yours? Yours is so... perfect in its imperfection. I loved how he didn’t even understand basic emotions. I loved his suffering as much as I hated and felt repulsed by it. I feel such deep pity, and cried for him. It was just so sad, unfair, infurating... I can’t even describe how your Erik made me feel throughout the story. I fell out of love just to fall in love harder at the end. Just marvelous.
Your story, in itself, is a marvelous masterpiece. Thank you so much for sharing it, and know that this review doesn’t even cover half of the things I felt reading your story. I just... loved it.
Hope you update someday.
Until then, dear author!
Slade J. Wilson chapter 41 . 10/24/2018
I usually get bored with longer fics not this one though, thanks for writing it. I especially liked Erik in the beginning.
KatyLies chapter 42 . 8/27/2018
This is such an amazing story! I've flown through it in 2 days. Your variations on Kay are clever and profound. You've managed to capture unique and difficult characters and draw them both realistically and sympathetically. It is very difficult to maintain such a full cast of other characters, but you've made me care for and seek to understand each and every one of them. And while Erik and Christine's unique bond is hard to capture in a way that doesn't come across as melodramatic and flat, you've given both characters enough motivation and development that their ultimate coming together felt satisfying and earned. This is one of the best stories I've read in this fandom. Thank you for sharing your amazing work and I hope there is more to come!
k.scrimshaw chapter 42 . 8/23/2018
I just have no words, I’ve been reading a lot of fanfic lately and yours is just a gem. I love litterally everything about it : the writing is SO GOOD, I’m holding my breath through every chapter thanks to the suspense, I love all the characters (they are so very humane! Even Erik lol), there is this Frankenstein atmosphere I adore and I cannot wait to read what’s next! Take your time of course, but I’m really looking forward next chapter. Keep up the great work!
Layla chapter 42 . 8/15/2018
Oh no. I thought this was a finished fic. I’m eager, of course, to see where this goes and how it ends and everything that comes with additions to your story, but what shall I do with myself until then. How will I sleep tonight? I feel my pulse at my throat when i’m reading these scenes, so intense and dramatic, I feel like I’m watching a movie. Amazing. PLEASE update (in your own time of course) because I don’t know how I can go on without witnessing a resolution. You’ve made me grow so attached to all of these characters, every last one. It reads BETTER than many of the professionally published books you find on library shelves. These characters are well constructed, unique, and I love every last one of them. They’re all so HUMAN, and that’s EXACTLY what you were going for, wasn’t it? Incredible, truly. UGH, there are so many little things that you put into these chapters and characters that I wish I had pointed out in some of my previous reviews (comments, i suppose), that I would have never thought of putting in there had I been writing this. LIKE that little boop on the nose Erik gave Christine a while back? My hand flew to my mouth oh my GOD I love this so much.

This is undoubtedly a favorite of mine already. The complexity of it, the adrenaline it pumps into my veins, UGH! YES! I want this printed, bound, and on my bookshelf soooo bad holy CRAP.

Thank you so much for exposing yourself and sharing this with all of us, it’s been an adventure. I’ve already gushed about it to my best friend, I love this so much. I say that, it all sounds very redundant and I hope the repetitiveness of these comments doesn’t irk you in any way, I just have no way to eloquently explain how much I adore this.
Layla chapter 38 . 8/15/2018
I can’t even imagine myself being able to handle all of these cliffhangers, being here while you were in the midst of weaving this story together. I would have fucking lost my MIND. I’m losing my mind STILL and I have the option to immediately quench my thirst for more.

I’ll definitely be reading more of your stories oooooooooh yeah
Guest chapter 35 . 8/15/2018
Another great chapter, they keep dragging me down deeper and deeper into this rabbit hole of yours.

One part that tickled me was “He [Raoul] knew women.” I started giggling to myself. Of course you do sweety, of course.
Layla chapter 34 . 8/15/2018
Oh my goodness 3 You’re going to keep me up all night. I NEED to read the last of these chapters before I go to sleep. I have to ride with the sun tomorrow morning, is that going to stop me? Nope.
