This fic rings true and could easily be a canon reaction to the Council's refusal. To add to things, the council refused to help Earth merely evacuate (canon) because their homeworlds were under attack. By a Reaper force vastly inferior to the one at Earth. I can't remember where I saw or heard it, but I think like 80% of the Reapers had attacked Earth because of how often we screwed over their plans. The Reapers didn't want to risk that happening again (which it did anyway, again thanks to humanity).

I don't have any problem with any of the other races in the game, except the turians and the asari, something with the snail pace they have with anything they do, that disturbs me, and the fact that they can read minds when... Fucking but anyway, that they can read minds at all while melding just doesn't sitt well with me, and the fact that they are supposed to be sooooo "good" it's sickening!

Well got of track here, if you do continue, I hope you decide to keep Ashley in it, she could for example tell Shepard, I told you so about alien's! ;)
