I've never read a spn story with Balthazar in it before, it s actually pretty neat to see this perspective of him. Thanks, it was a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

Okay, so, I am absolutely not okay with some of those alternate routes... They really hurt, you know?
Anyway, I kind of read the whole fic this morning so I got some time to think about it, and wanted to tell you that I really loved it. We don't have enough good stories - I mean, really good stories - involving Balthazar, so that's a first good point.
I was a little wary (is that the right word? English isn't my native language, and my phone is betraying me and trying to autocorrect each word that isn't french...) at first, because, well... Catherine. I mean, it's not that I don't like her, I really do, but I was somehow a bit afraid that she could turn out to be a total Mary-Sue. And I was wrong, and ended up absolutely loving this character. So, yes, second point.
Third point, Gabriel. I was actually pretty angry at you when you made him die - again! -, but all is well that ended well (or it's how we say it in french, I'm not sure about the english version of the proverb) and he lived... And I wasn't angry anymore ;)
Then, Catherine's death. I will not say that it was a good thing, but it was well written and very agréable to read, along with Balthazar's reaction. And you somehow managed to make a romantic relationship interesting, something that isn't that easy to do :)
Gadreel, now. I like the way you portrayed him, and his motivations towards the end of the world, Dean and Sam. I think you even might have made me reconsider my opinion of this character.
Along with some of my favorite things, there's Michael's and Lucifer's deaths, the "opening scene", Balthazar learning how to act while trapped in a human body... Etc. I'm sure that I've forgot at least half of the compliments I wanted to tell you, but you've got the general idea. Yeah, I think I'm going to add this story to my favorites. Thanks for writing it ! ;)

You know, some of those alternate routes hurt. Like seriously.. Ow! On the list of things that are NOT OKAY! Could you right a one shot of how she first became a hunter? Maybe having Gabriel or Bal there, not interfering but maybe glimpsing her or something. After all Gabe has been all over the place and has been in hiding for a while, as well as actually caring for humanity (compared to the other angels at least, he does try to keep them in line a bit, if only for his own amusement). Anyway my point is, it is likely that he stumbled upon her at some point. And could be the reason he liked her so much. He knows how she started.
